They don't love you as evident by the continued abuse heaped upon you. You can love them, and they will return. They usually do for a time. You have to go no contact and GOSO. You may love them, you have to let them go for your own sake, not what they want. GOSO, no contact, and move forward without them, and thrive. Excellent post HG, thank you.

I definitely still desire to at times ,to reconnect with an ex narcissist but while IV had numerous opportunities because his Hoovered me intermittently ..I have never let myself or him back into my life because I know I would never survive it .

Ordinary emotions shouldn't require continual validation from a chosen third party in order to prevent psychological breakdown. If you really love someone you don't want anything back from them and you let them be. They can be a narcissist if they want because a healthy person will instinctively shut them out whatever emotions they're experiencing. These people are caught in traps of their own devising and no amount of telling or explaining will persuade them that they need to self-examine.

Hmmmm ,the below may sound contradictory but .IV found it really hard at times to go no contact.But IV never let him physically back into my life but yes ,I find him like an addiction that I'm always in recovery from .
