Hi David! We made the Mandarin Sour last night. I used 1 oz of fresh-squeezed mandarin juice instead of mashing 6 sections. It turned out great, and no booze was wasted with the fruit membranes! Loved the addition of the orgeat. Recommend!

I recently had an orange sour and loved it… just finished mandarins up last week, but one of those days I brought a mandarin and clementine to work and ate them right after each other… I think I’d want to go secure some more mandarins for this… for Friday night!

Orgeat in sours is a pretty surefire way to turn a classic sour into a standout, long lasting cocktail variation in my opinion. The most enduring version of this that comes to mind is the army and navy, which is a gin sour that substitutes Simple with orgeat in the same proportions. I thought it was excellent, but it definitely features that almond flavor and that has to be something you enjoy. Other sour template cocktails that employ orgeat would be the Mai tai, Trinidad sour, and (to an extent, but it’s technically not a sour) the fog cutter. The Trinidad sour is easily my favorite of that list lol. Another excellent video David, I can’t wait to try this one.

I desperately wanted to make this cocktail but also didn't want to buy (or make) orgeat. So I scrounged almond flavor from my wife's baking cabinet (-: Just one drop did the trick (sugar syrup needed in addition, obviously). Great cocktail, tnx!
