A seriously interesting and impressive video! I really enjoyed the experimentation part of it. You moved from crafts to making here, this was a serious exploration of the possibilities of this material! Also hugely impressive to see what you can cut with it. Makes me want to try out something with cardboard right now. ;-) There is a German youtuber that has made a bicycle camper/caravan from corrugated cardboard, as well as converted a trike bicycle to a bicycle motorhome made of corrugated cardboard. There's also a cardboard bicycle on KZbin. I bet you'd find that inspiring.
Hi, Ivo! Thanks for commenting, that is a super cool video with the cardboard E-bike cover. It is cool how well he documented the build of the bike camper cover. I am honored that you enjoyed this video, it was a ton of work to make and I think it is my best video so far. Hopefully I will be able to make more like it in the future. Have a blessed day, - Eli

Thanks for asking, @TechBoxed I use my phone for everything. I recently got a Pixel 7 for the quality photos and video it can take. I would love to use a real camera... but they are so expensive. Thank you for chatting during the premiere! - Eli

Hey man just found your channel. I was looking for ideas using cardboard for a project I’m going to do with my nephew. Basically what I was wondering was do you have any advice as to how I can cover my cardboard. I don’t want to just paint it. I kinda want to make it look as good as possible. I was thinking about maybe using vinyl or some type of veneer so I doesn’t look so cheap. Sorry if you have a video up already about what I’m asking, I haven’t looked at all your videos. I just don’t know if any of that would work. 1 thing we are doing is making a shelf so it’s going to be visible so that’s why I don’t want it to look like cardboard. Any advice would be appreciated thx

Hi, PrDrSteve. Thank you so much for your comment and I think that it is fantastic that you are doing a project with your nephew. The first thing I would think about is how you want to hide the corrugated edge (fluting) of the cardboard. You can do this by folding the cardboard, covering it with paper, using a filler, etc... This video explains it best: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eHjPkKmAhqecoNU After that you could paint it or do whatever finish you were thinking of. I don't have a ton of experience in this area but this KZbin channel has some videos that might help you: youtube.com/@rjr_productions They make cardboard helmets but they look super real and you could use some of the techniques to make a more impressive shelf. Best of luck to you and your nephew! Let me know if you need any more advice. - Eli

Thanks for commenting, would you consider getting on a video call to talk about it? I don't think I can explain it any better in writing than I did in the video. Email me at makerbrain.eli@gmail.com if you want to talk about it in real time. God bless you, - Eli

@MakerBrain Жыл бұрын
Thank you for the question, I am sorry it has taken me a while to get back to you. I was trying to think of a good way to explain it because it would be difficult and confusing to type out. Here is a link to a short video that I recorded to hopefully explain it better: crvideos.bonjoro.com/r/5aaf4f0a-9024-4201-9e7e-fd81bb616c83 (I used a tool called "bonjoro" to share this video with you) Have a great day and God bless you! - Eli

@@MakerBrain also is there any subs for hot glue because i dont have any and no stores in my area sell it
@MakerBrain Жыл бұрын
@@ThatRealAdem hi, Alex I'm not sure what the best substitution for hot glue in this project would be. You would have to change a lot of the techniques to work better with glues that cure more slowly. Hot glue works really well for this project because it is flexible and that means it won't break. If I hit something... It might just bend a little bit and then bend back. If you could get your hands on a lot of super glue that might be able to do the trick... Or maybe you could do it with Elmer's glue or wood glue. If you got really good at clamping the cardboard in place so that the glue had time to dry. I'm not very experienced crafting with other kinds of glue but my last suggestion would be to try rubber cement or contact cement (apparently they are different glues). You might want to experiment with a small piece of cardboard and figure out what will work best for your project. Good luck! - Eli
