6:19 - I highly recommend everyone to learn german from DW Learn German, it's 100% free, reliable, available for all german level from A1 to C2 and yet extremely fun because all we need to do is watching series! the series plot is all about Nico from Spain who get lost in Germany. my ultimate tip: write everything you heard or try to mimicking their conversation, believe me, it will stick FOREVER on your brain 😃

Excellent video as always! I try every day to apply this routine even if sometimes it's very difficult. Personally, what I like to do is divide my day in two. In the morning I read Korean and review vocabulary and in the evening (because that's when I'm most productive) I learn grammar and do active listening. I also like to do dictations once a week ... it doesn't sound fun but it's very useful for remembering words :)

Definitely combining activities: 1) When being on my way to the university, I sometimes listen to podcasts. I avoid noisy paths on purpose and repeat words as I am listening or only mouth them when in public. I also listen to podcasts on the train if I am not reading or just listening to my thoughts. It's great because it gives me a boost during my day and makes me feel less shy speaking or interacting, it makes me feel productive starting the day and it also is healthy as I sometimes walk on longer paths so that I can walk in silence longer. I generally listen to podcasts on ''Podbeam'' (don't do it much often lately) 2) Writing in a diary. I do it in the evening as a way to keep me away from electronics but also to put my mind at peace as I tell everything I would otherwise overthink about. It's really healthy for your mental health to write in a diary, but it also makes you feel productive as you write and express yourself in another language. When I just don't know the word, I write it in another colour (in another language or just leave a blank) and come back the next day. It also sometimes allow myself to think only in that language, it's a push when you have an advanced level in a language. What I usually write about doesn't need to be intimate, unless I really need to vent out. I usually tell about my day, my thoghts during the day, what I want to do tomorrow, what made me happy or not, what I can improve,... Here were two of my tips. Love your videos!

Thank you so much for sharing your tips in a great detail! I like your learning routine. I think writing a journal is a great way to get along with our target language since it allows us to slow down and really think about how we want to express our thoughts in another language. Not to mention, boosting our mental health as you mentioned! When I make a video about writing a journal in a target language, feel free to give us more tips! Thanks!

Thank you for making a great video and sharing your study journey. I'm on the same page as you that self-discipline, persistence, and perseverance are essential elements in studying a foreign language. As you mentioned, it is a lifelong journey, and we must constantly challenge ourselves. If possible, I would love to hear how you have been addressing the abundance of synonyms and similar expressions in the English learning process. English is a highly subtle language with many delicate nuances. For me, I tend to group similar phrases or vocabularies, continually adding new ones to my vocab collection as I come across them. Through this grouping, I feel somewhat free from the confusion that stems from the overwhelming quantity of vocabulary.

Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts! My take on tackling vocabs is quite similar to yours with a few more sprinkles on top of it. I think grouping synonyms was very helpful memorizing a large number of words. This was especially useful for the reading comprehension (when reading random books and magazines) and in the English language exams such as TOEFL. But as I was moving towards upper intermediate and advanced level in English, I realized that the synonyms were not necessarily applicable to the same situation. This is where watching stuffs, talking to people, and reading a lot of books in English really helped. I learned when to use certain words. This is one other reason why I have been a big fan of collecting phrases (As I talked about in one of my previous videos: Five Best Language Learning habits). They have been so helpful on this front too! I hope this helps.

Great channel! 😊👍🏻I always gain so many ideas for learning languages from your videos. By the way, did you study both Germany and English at the same time? If both how you manage time to study, like every other day or every day.

Thanks and i am delighted to hear that! Yeah sort of. I started studying German when i was in the US. So while “living” and learning English, i was studying German 😊. Regarding time management, I focused on building habits for working on two languages: reading aloud, working on vocabs, and watching something. I allocated 10-15 min for each and tried my best to be consistent. Of course, when i had German exams or something, i would spend much more time on my German skill. I also used to participate in weekly conversation clubs like German Coffee Hour to maximize my exposure to German language.
