I sent my husband this video (as well as a 3 layer bar recipe of yours) last week, and oh boy! He had me buy a special pan from Amazon for them both. He's 72 (veterinarian still working) and loves to cook (we've been married 47yrs). Then he was looking through your videos and was exclaiming about so many of your recipes, I finally bought your hard bound cook book for him on Amazon! He is the best cook between us, and will be making many of your good recipes yippee! I have rarely seen him so interested in a cook on YT, I wanted you to know we are enjoying your videos and getting ready to cook many of them. Hoping you had a very merry Christmas, and will follow with a wonderful New Year! You've given us much JOY!!! :)

I have made toffee for 50 years. I take it out of the pan while still pliable, using the parchment tabs, place it on a flat surface and use a pizza cutter to make pretty squares and then let it cool. Took me 30 years to think of that! Gosh, the toffee gifts I gave are countless but always appreciated.

My brother in law makes toffee for the men at his Fire station and for us each Christmas. His toffee is always thin and easy to bite into because of an "Accident" at the firehouse. He unknowingly put the cookie sheet on the stove with a low fire going. When he poured the toffee and began to spread it, he noticed that it wasn't setting up Fast as normal. Then he feels the heat from the cookie sheet! Once it cooled it set up great. But, it was much thinner! Today, he places the cookie sheet in a low oven to preheat it -- Perfect Toffee Everytime! ♥️😋😋😋 Give it a try sometime! Thanks for your Wonderful Videos! You are Amazing! 😃👍♥️🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🍀🍀🍀

I make this every year around Christmas time. Although I’ve never added water and after so many years I don’t use a thermometer either. There is a certain “look” to the toffee that you just know when it’s done. I’ve also tried adding vanilla but have never had a noticeable taste difference without it. I also pour the toffee out on a pizza pan or cookie sheet just to let it spread in its own. My son has been helping me make these for years and make a great gift for neighbors and friends ! Love how simple it is 😊

What I like best: 1) No corn syrup. 2) Mentioning an alternative to aluminum foil. Now I just have to decide it is time to eat some white sugar.

This is such an easy recipe. Thank you so much. I love English toffee and this is delicious. I have made two batches for Christmas gifts. I think they will go over well.

Does the toffee keep well? I plan to make some today for Christmas/New Year gifts. I normally pack treats in sealed bags. Does it stick together after a few days ? Many thanks for any input

@@oonagh2811 i have mine stored in a tin can and it seems fine. It doesn’t stick together at all. I would think that as long as the candy has cooled and you have it broken into pieces, it should be fine in a tightly wrapped plastic bag. Give it a try with a few pieces. But for sure, it doesn’t stick together in my Christmas cookie tins.

My family loves toffee, we make it in a half sheet pan!🤗 I’ve never added pecans to the pan before it was cooked, so I’ll have to try that. I also put chocolate and nuts on both sides, while my daughter in law puts chocolate on just one. I haven’t made candy of any kind in years but I’m so motivated this year! Thanks in part to all of your fabulous videos!

Fabulous! You make it look so easy and I thank you for that. Growing up making old fashioned fudge and other candies my mother taught me how to use a cool cup of water too test my candy. I have now moved on to cand thermometer. It's so important too make sure your boil is at the right stage. Going too make your toffee today. Wish me luck. Thank you for video!!
