I have been doing this for about 18 months, but I use Proscar pills instead and also add about 30% Vodka to the mix (just to reduce the strength of the Minoxidil). 5% Minoxidil is just too strong for me, it gives me dark circles under my eyes. I had been previously on 0,2mg Finasteride for many years, but still had annoying sides. Hence I started experimenting with topical Finasteride. My hair is thicker than when only on oral Finasteride and the sides now are almost non existent.

@@jeanpierregenit3255 I my case the sides are basically almost non existent, a fraction what they were compared to when I was microdosing oral finasteride. The only thing I have noticed is that my libido has moderately decreased compared to baseline, but I have noticed no other sexual sides when on my home mixed topical solution. On oral, the sexual sides I experienced were varied, persistent and in hind sight, harsh.

I crush finasteride up into powder form, put it in an old pepper shaker, and then in the morning I’ll rub some thickening gel in between my hands, shake a dash of powdered finasteride into the gel, rub the finasteride in with the gel, and then apply it to the top of my scalp. The study you referenced around 5:00 actually recommends 100-200 microliters of 0.25% topical fin daily, which is 0.1-0.2 mL. Giving 1 mL would likely result in systemic absorption and untoward side effects. This is a common error but giving an order of magnitude higher of this drug can have a huge impact on patient health

Just tried it with a bottle of rosemary essential oil and part natural hair loss formula with an oil base. Gonna let it sit and absorb before using it. I found rosemary with a bit of a oil base like coconut oil was helpful in general and I read a study that claimed it was more effective than minoxidil. I also make my own fenugreek extract by soaking the seeds and crushing them into the water and straining. Really helps strengthen the hair and slow hair loss.

Instead Minoxidil I use Peppermint oil(100%) diluted with destiled water (60 drops to 60 ml=5 %) so I have 5 % peppermint solution mixed exactly with 12 pills of 5 Mg finasteride.I have made this solution 2 months ago so it's still early to say ,I hope it would work....

There's a lot of comments/questions here about how many pills to dissolve in minoxidil solution to reach the levels used in these published studies. It's very important to consider both the solution concentration (which in these studies is .25% = 2.275 mg/mL) *and* the dose range, which in these studies is VERY small compared to a typical 1mL dropper full of minoxidil, at just 100-200 *micro*liters per day (for which you'd need a special pump sprayer and cone to avoid wasting most of the mist). The 1mL standard minoxidil dropper seems easier for the average guy to use, but it would require a much weaker concentration, much less finasteride going into the bottle. Chemists, please check my math and logic here since it's been some years since I took my chem classes. But this seems to fit with some earlier comments. If you are using the standard bottle (2 oz = 59.2 mL) and standard dose of minoxidil (the 1 mL dropper) and mixing in 5mg finasteride pills, I think you’d need only about 3.5 to 6.5 pills per 2-oz bottle of minoxidil to reach the desired dose if you want to apply 1 dropper full to the scalp per day. If using 1mg finasteride pills, you’d need between 16.25 and 32.5 pills per bottle of minoxidil. Here's my math: .25% solution = 2.275 mg/mL = .00275mg/microL desired Finast concentration at a daily dose = 100 to 200 microL to administer .275 mg to .550 mg/day. Standard dose of minox = 1 mL dropper. So .275mg to .550mg/mL = desired concentration. 1 bottle minox = 2 oz = 59.2 mL. So .275 mg/mL * 59.2 mL = 16.28 mg Finast to add to bottle. 16.28mg/ 5mg per Finast pill = 3.258 pills. .550mg/mL * 59.2 mL = 32.56 mg Finast to add to bottle. 32.56 mg/ 5mg per Finast pill = 6.512 pills.

I’m not a chemist or anything like that. Just wanted to share that I spoke with a pharmacist and she said that she would heat up the finasteride pill. As in use a Bunsen burner before mixing it in the minoxidil. Now, she didn’t go into details. But that’s what she said. Anybody with a chemistry background, please elaborate. How long would you heat it? Why heat it? and is that all that you would do; heat it, crush it, mix it? Or should you crush it, heat it, mix it? I’ll have to go back to her again when she’s not so busy to get more details

@@wearentbrothers well its like this.. if you manage to apply 1ml of minox into your whole scalp in a single day then you are good, just remember you put "1mg per 1ml".. and you only need to take 1mg of finasteride a day.. then here's the problem what if you put more 1ml a day? let's say 2ml of minox that means you also take 2mg of finasteride a day.. then here is another more problem what if you put 2ml in the morning and 2ml in the evening?? that means you just take 4mg of finasteride a day..

I dont think you understood the video. It still obviously goes systemic but at a much lower rate when compared to oral finasteride. It also inhibits more scalp dht while reducing it from going systemic, so theoretically, it works better than oral fin with far less side effects.

What i used is 12 (5mg) tablets. I use it only on my hairline twice a day with at least 4 hour gap between each dose. Twice a week I don't use it and instead use dermaroller 0.5 mm. I'm on month 2 and it's working surprisingly good, I hope it keeps getting better

I have a doubt, isn’t it supposed to be that if you add 5 mg of finasteride to a 100 ml bottle of minoxidil you will get a concentration of 5% finasteride? Because, if I’m right, you can calculate the concentration of a solution by dividing the amount of mass of the solute over the volume of solvent, and then multiply by 100. Someone help me understand this please. Bc I think that adding all of those pills would give you a huge concentration of finasteride and therefore it would be bad for you.

Without alcohol the finasteride won’t absorb. Maybe with derma rolling before every session. But you would be wasting finasteride to find out. So without coming up with a new a absorption mechanism there would be no way to incorporate it into any essential oils

First off, congrats on the baby girl. 2nd I'm in Korea currently and I've been thinking of getting a transplant, I've had micro-pigmentation done but I'm not happy with it. What do you recommend? It’s 0.025 and to make it add 15mg of fin to one bottle of liquid minoxidil. This will give you 0.025% per ML. If you use 2ML of minoxidil then do 7.5mg of fin per bottle instead.

I did start ketoconazole shampoo, 1mg finasteride, and 2.5 oral minoxidil 6 months ago and my hair is incredible. Didn't gain much on the hairline but any difuse sections in vertex and crown are back to what they were when I was 19.. I'm 38 btw.

@@IMChessMD I didn't derma roll. I hear that is really important if you're doing topical minoxidil. I figured I'd pass on that since I'm taking oral minoxidil. Aloe is more of a carrier for the other oils and it acts as a very light hold type of styling gel

It's possible anytime you stop taking hair loss meds. Unfortunately, it has to be a long term commitment otherwise you will likely lose the gains you had and more.

InfoRanker It shouldn’t make you lose because you’re not changing medications, just the method of delivery. And the studies conclusively show that the efficacy when it comes to topical delivery is the same as oral delivery when it comes to absorption into the scalp, aka what would’ve make you lose hair if there indeed was a difference in the efficiency of absorption, which there is not. Also if you’re not taking minoxidil and don’t yet want to start, you can use a Propylene Glycol solution for the base of adding the powdered finasteride. Hope that helps brother.

I did all of them but finastride powder does not solve in minoxidil and all of them just settle down the bottle ! What should i do . I shake it about 20 mins but nothing happens i mean when i let them rest , i can see the finastride powder settlement

Finasteride will dissolve in the alcohol that is in the Minoxidil topical solution (alcohol). The white powder is the filler, most likely magnesium stearate or silica, which does not dissolve in alcohol or water.

I think his calculation is wrong...There is 0.1% Salt of Finastride in the solution...By that calculation, we need just 6 mg of Finastride in 60 ml solution..That just 6 tablets of 1mg Finastride..

Because oral finasteride is easier and also it blocks scalp DHT everywhere while for the topical you should not miss a spot otherwise that spots DHT wont lower down

For someone who wants to avoid potential sides from fin, which I suppose is the main reason to do topical rather than oral, this concentration at 1-2 ml per day would be way, way too high. If the idea is to administer 1-2 ml daily (which is way more than they do in the clinical study), then something like 3-6x 1mg tablets is more the target. Beyond a concentration of 0,025%, there are significant systemic effects. At the concentration proposed in the video, if taking 1-2 ml per day, then you might as well take the tablet orally. I myself dissolve 7,5mg (1,5x 5mg tablets of fin) into a 60 ml min solution (.013%) and apply 1ml twice daily. That's already a bit too much with respect to sides risk / systemic effects.
