Oh gosh, the long one with the black outfit I'm OBSESSED 😍🖤
@tobywollin89783 жыл бұрын
Orly: FABULOUS! But, if I can suggest (and this is only because I've had this issue a couple of times and finally fixed it for myself) - buy another 1-1.5 yards of the same fabric you are using to make the robe with and make a little sleeveless 'nighty' (ok, I'm showing my age here; I don't know what the 'kewl kids' are calling night dresses these days) that matches. So, why bother? Sooner than later, we are going to start traveling again and be invited to other people's homes or even (gasp) want to create the ultimate romantic evening on the cheap. You've made the robe; you've now got a matching nighty - no more wandering down the hallway to the bathroom in the morning in a stained teeshirt and gym shorts. You can go down to breakfast/brunch looking like Jean Harlow! And trust me - there is nothing worse than getting that phone call invitation for a weekend and start running arond trying to find a matching set.
@raraavis77823 жыл бұрын
I think, a more fancy nightdress would be called a 'negligée' maybe? I agree though, a matching set is a good investment, weather you buy or sew it. Very classy (or seductive), depending on the material.

It's amazing what you chose for ur Lil ones, it's gr8 for their mechanical skills, brain-teasing, educational, and definitely a gr8 idea to connect n use the time with such projects. Big golden star for all 3 of u. I'd also like to suggest that you'd maybe consider making this an individual video n the robes n such a separate video, that will be highly appreciated n also will give other parents t choose n click on the video more to watch or recommend their kids to watch such a video., at the end of the day the title says DIY robes n patterns, makes sense... Enjoy a wonderful day n much love for the Lil ones. Shine

I didn't scroll all the way through the comments, so this may have been said, but . . . you can make your own bias tape! Cut strips on the bias, I usually do 1 1/2-2 inches, sew them together, then press I half, then each edge into the middle. I do it a lot so I have bias tape that matches my fabric exactly.

Wow! The first one is the method I used to create a robe for Halloween a couple of years ago. It was for my witch costume using some leftover black & silver fabric that I had. It previously lived as a back drop for my older brother's 25th Wedding Anniversary a couple of years ago. He stood in front of it to renew his vows with his wife. 💖 So I had yards & yards lying around. Thanks to table centerpieces etc. I created a cool costume with it. Best part was my elderly Mom helping me. I have a couple now in different colors. Witch & Devil. So if you are reading this comment. Try it for Halloween too easy peasy. Thank you Orly! You are the best! 💕

Re: the black robe. Granted that it has a large repeat, but it is an obvious one, I would have thought that you would take the time to match the pattern at the easy straight side seams. You could use any 'waste' portion for the belt and pockets. I do love the french seams. They make the inside look as finished as the outside, which is important if you wear it unbelted and open. Great ideas, as always!

Very nice! I like, that you incorporated a french seam, here. Because although it's considered an 'advanced' technique, it's actually very easy to do...and such a nice way, to get a clean finish without a serger. Which most beginners don't have access to, of course. And bonus points for careful pressing as well. You're becoming a really proficient seamstress!
