I love the uniqueness of this ice cream recipe! Using the salep, even if it’s rare to get, is so wonderful because you find ways to keep historical recipes alive. Thank you for the recipe and the amazing connection to Ottoman and Turkish history! 🇹🇷❤️

I make one with cream and condensed milk, no churn icecream, but fresh is best. Our favourite was Turkish Halawa, pistachio, and a heaped tablespoon of Tahini. Icecream is an Arab invention. ❤ Thankyou Aysenur

I recently learned how easy it is to make condensed milk at home and have used it with plain yogurt to make ice cream. I'm definitely going to try and find an adequate salep powder (won't be pure but what can you do) and try that. Thanks a lot!

That’s great, I tired once with home made dolce de leches but haven’t look to make condensed milk. I have to look for it good idea 😊🙋🏻♀️

Hi Aysenur. I hope you and your family are well. Thanks for sharing your recipe. It’s inspired me to make some here in NZ even though it’s still winter. A local shop has the helva wafers too.

Wow! Just my favorite dessert (ice cream) I even eat ice cream in winter (silly me) it is in fact a very easy recipe but as you said I think finding the Sahel would be a bit difficult out here in Malta but I will definitely try the Asian supermarkets. Thank you for sharing this delicious recipe and I look forward to more recipes. I have tried 2 of your zucchini recipes and yum yum so delicious and healthy. God Bless you Aysenur and TC greetings 👏👏👏❤️🌹😋😋🇲🇹

Very nice video. Thank you for the new ideas. I will give you a tip to use in your ice-cream. Try to use sugar and use 200 gr of sugar milk ( Yogunlastirilmis Sut ) . I find it finally in Turkish supermarkets. Is more tasty then sugar and give a nice texture to the ice-cream. 🎉

Amazing Ayşenur 😋😋😋 I wanted to buy the authentic sahlep when we were in Istanbul- but I was worried 12:10 about the quality since there was such a huge difference in the prices.

I like this icecream method. I've learned that reducing the milk and evaporating the water content will make it taste creamier. When you're heating the milk and evaporating the water, how low or how high is the heat flame? Does it matter if you burn the milk ?
@TFT3 ай бұрын
It is better if you don’t burn the milk of course 😊 but in like medium to medium high heat you can stir and pour the milk to help evaporate for at least 15-20 min. I did a bit too much even in the video because I was talking in the phone for a time 😃

This looks delicious. Yeah, I priced Salep in the US and it can be bought through a specialty importer, but the price is beyond belief. about double the price you quoted for in Türkiye.

Turkish ice cream is delicious! May I ask a question? Does salep from supermarket will work in this recipe? I’m in Brazil, but I went to Turkiye this year, and I brought Salep, but it is a supermarket one… looking forward for your answer! Best regards!
