Basic science: when you boil a herb, spice, or root, you extract the minerals. So, you just poured the minerals down the drain. Therefore, you're getting less than half of the actual Tumeric. The best way to PRESERVE its potency is to bake it at 200-degrees for 20-minutes. Baking it will preserve the nutrients. Unless it's an egg, which the shell protects and preserves the nutrients when you boil anything else you're extracting its mineral concentration. The result is that you're now just eating a colorful powder.

Thanks for this video. There are other videos too with boiling turmeric as a procedure. But your video is more informative. Curing involves boiling the rhizomes in water for 45 min to one hour, until froth appears at the surface, the typical turmeric aroma is released, and the rhizomes become soft. I would suggest to wash and dry and grind so it won’t lose the essence . Curcumin is active ingredient found in turmeric which has very good antibacterial properties

Im so sorry about your experience dearie 🙏 It seems the sun wasn't hot enough to dry it faster hence it has begun to ferment. Check to see if it has formed mold and if not, give it a rinse and dry it again in the oven on very low heat

Yes you can still grind the roots without boiling, boiling only helps to enhance the colour and reduce the raw smell of the turmeric roots
