Growing up, I hardly ate it because it was considered "poor people food" that was made when provisions were scarce. I've even heard people refer to it ignorantly as 'dog food'. That is probably why you've never had it before. So I don't remember people making often. Now I'm here because I'm craving it🙂.

I always make mistakes when cooking so I like tips to fix them. Tip: if the cornmeal is grainy when you pour it out or if it’s liquid like, put it in a baking dish and bake at 375 for 20-30 minutes. This just happened to me and I was petrified as others are partaking in the meal so I had to think fast. It came out just perfect and when it’s cooled I slice it like a cake. I also used coconut milk in my recipe 😉

@@JerenesEatsjust find this recipe and so excited, also subscribe to you channel. Went to a 4 stars all inclusive hotel in Jamaica, tried this out of curiosity, had a fancy name and didn’t know what it was until I tasted it. It was delicious but I told the waitress this was turn cornmeal with minced beef 😍🥰 got me a second serving 😂 maybe the name was different because of the owners. The food there was amazing with a mix of Jamaican cuisine, Latin etc😍😍
