Oh, I so wish I'd seen this earlier! We're new to caravanning and have been putting the cushions the other way round instead of turning them upside down. I will certainly do this the other way round after watching this video. That bump on the topside of the seating cushion by the edge of the seating makes for a very lumpy "mattress". Don't know why I didn't think of turning them upside down before - doh! Thanks for the tip!

Another option if you remove the centre cabinet is to put the two larger base cushions in the centre, sleep for to aft and use those two cushions to make up a double sized bed. Then you can tuck double sized bedding on them. That way there is the backrest cushion space each side and both people can get out with minimal disturbance to the other.

Been caravaning for three years and sorted the bed making early on, only thing is the slates they drive us crazy no matter how slow we pull them out or put them back they seem to go into twist and fall mode, I even had to run some beading either side so the slates could run along, but they still want to twist and shout as we pull or push, I have just put soap on the slates so they slide easier.On a good slate day under a min, cheers

We have single memory foam mattress toppers that just roll up and fit in the base lockers, they are covered with a single duvet cover of your colour choice and provide an even better nights rest and can be washed easily also. We have low wattage kettle and i can make up the bed and put it away in the time it takes to boil the kettle. If we are out for the day or a short stay and don't have any guests then we just leave it made up. We removed the front chest and have wrap around seating and that provides more options of sitting / lounging and allows us to sleep from front to back of the van in case either one of us needs to get up during the night.

Thanks nobody ever told me how to make up the bed and we've spent ages trying different things, so next time we are going to have a go at this. Doesn't need to be quick we are both disabled but we might get a better nights sleep that way. cheers

Another method is keep the large cushions together and keep the smaller ones down by feet as the smaller ones can be annoying when you feel all those lumps and bumps

I'm desperately trying to find out how to replace my slat bed in my Elddis Odyssey! (Or repair it). The big slat at the end has split at the edge and so it won't hold the slats securely in place any longer. It keeps collapsing under me in the night when I roll over.

Yeah nice, thanks for that, but you never told us how to remove the center chest of drawers. I took the drawers out and unlocked the 5 latches that I thought would release the drawers, but that thing never budged. What am I missing here?
