It is! 😍 I even revived this batch after neglecting it with the boat Reno’s and it’s now so healthy it’s multiplied so I’ve been giving it away to friends when my jug gets too full 😁

I don’t really get it, Basically the natural yeast eats the sugar, but your not making alcohol? So in theory you could be making a type of beer, I know a lot of people make ginger beer, with different strengths of natural alcohol.. but I always thought grain alcohol produced ethanol which you definitely shouldn’t drink.. not seeing the health benefits.. only because I don’t understand the science.. (I assume) Most cruises make yogurt to get a healthy gut full of good bacteria 🦠, Because they make water, and doing so (especially with UV filters they are basically removing all bacteria, making them vulnerable to belly issues in different countries, Yogurt replaces that.. but not the minerals.. (many take multi vitamins) for this reason.. minerals replacement.. slightly confused.. tbh..

It’s got yeasts yes and bacteria which help to keep the alcohol content down, usually I think it only gets to 0.2 to about 2 percent but I think you’d have to leave it for a long time for it to get that high. The main benefit it has over yogurt is that it’s lactose free as some people can’t tolerate dairy. Even though it looks like you’re adding a lot of sugar it’s quite low in content once you drink it. Here’s something I read online - Nutritionists and healthcare professionals suggest that regularly drinking kefir may improve health in 2-4 weeks. The several health benefits of kefir include improving heart, gut, kidney, liver, and skin health. Kefir also has anti-cancerous, anti-inflammatory, and anti-bacterial effects. I’m not a healthcare professional so I don’t make any of these claims but I’m certainly happy to have it on board, if nothing else it’s a great mixer 😜

@@OffGridArtist actually a good point about “ lactose intolerant”. I never actually gave that a thought 💭…. I’m happy to eat anything other than celery (evil weed) 😂. Oh and I don’t drink coca-Cola.. normally i drink water or real fruit juice (not added sugar.. and i like a cold beer in summer..
