Thank you for your video. I found wings that had come off a Lunar moth after it died. They were on my deck after a rain and at first I thought they were strange looking leafs. But upon inspection I saw they were from one of the Luna lr moths that had been hanging around. I am going to use your technique and make them into earnings. Cheers.

Since you have already thought these things through maybe you could help me figure out how to copy a dress I like making it a tiny bit longer in the bodice because the manufacturer cut it pretty short.
@OffGridArtist2 ай бұрын
Hmmm sounds tricky 😍 are you wanting to utilise the dress and just modify it or use it as a pattern for a new one? Pattern is easier as you can simply cut through all the seams and replicate them using a longer bodice? I’m still learning this myself.

Handy hint!! If you are using double tread . To start your stitching without knotting your thread.Thread both ends of your thread trough the needle stitch through the material and loop thread under the the pulling thread and it will anchor your thread .
@OffGridArtist2 ай бұрын
I love this suggestion! My sister does this with her cross stitch so it’s neater on the back. I prefer knotting mine so that my needle is attached as I’m always picking it up and putting it down again I know the needle can’t fall off and run away from me 😅

Is baking the keys necessary? I want to use some to make accessories but I’m worried if I don’t coat them they’ll have that white powdery substance flake off them from being untreated.
@OffGridArtist2 ай бұрын
Hi Tyler I’m not sure. 🤔 maybe trial with one. I think if they’re old they really need some protection and the good thing about the baking is it doesn’t leave them oily. Mine are hanging in my father in laws kitchen and so far they look just like the day I finished them :)

Water is one of those forgiving mediums, you would break its surface and become part of the art, for just a moment, before you were swallowed up in the depths and the forward motion would continue to paint pictures of all that reflects in its surface 😍

What kind of plastic did you use? Saran wrap?
@OffGridArtist4 ай бұрын
I don’t know what Saran wrap is, but we have cling wrap here for food, I wouldn’t choose to use it, only in a pinch because it’s too thin and sticky and wants to move. If it’s all you have I’m sure you can make it work but I prefer other plastics from packaging, binders etc. anything that lays flat and doesn’t curl easily. Hope that helps!
