Wouldnt the 12v source mess with the wiring or module as to I think the module only runs those 3 little batteries which maybe only equate to 4.5v? So if on for long, the wire can heat up and burn?

I used a relay. The relay is activated by the car's 12 volts, and then the switched side just closes to complete the circuit which mimics the action of hitting the play button on the sound board. That's all you're doing when you hit play; completing a circuit. The switched side of the relay is just another way to complete it.

I wired mine to the stereo fuse that comes on with the key ignition but it looks the entire time car is on. Any advice ?

With creative use of a relay, any 12v+ or ground can be used as a trigger, and you could use the dome circuit for example
