Moving from a solopreneur to a big business owner allows for sustainable income and life-changing opportunities for you and your loved ones. The key steps are "make, manage, multiply," as Ryan often teaches. Once you can make $250K per year on your own, focus on the "manage" stage, which is what this video expounds upon.
Small businesses have more risk, so the goal is to go big. The visionary is the CEO, setting the company's big vision and being a great leader. The integrator is the COO, executing the vision and ensuring day-to-day operations align with it. Think of employees as investments, hiring people better than you at tasks that consume your time.
Marketing is the first funnel for deals. The head of marketing should handle KPIs, budgets, and lead generation. Sales come next, tracking KPIs to ensure salespeople perform with quality leads. Operations (OPS) handles administrative tasks, transaction coordination, and more. Dispositions focus on exit strategies. All these departments constitute the workings of your business. If you are a solopreneur, you are performing all of these jobs yourself and you might be ready to hire a team.
To scale successfully:
1. Hire top-down.
2. Focus on core values when choosing employees.
3. Train daily.
4. Hire fair players.
5. Hire people with no ego.
6. Ensure employees are in the right roles.
7. Create clear SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).
