The Carriage House Harvest Soup Starter Blend
¼ cup olive oil
2 celery stalks, chopped
1 onion, chopped
3 carrots, peeled and chopped
¼ c Red Lentils
¼ c Green Lentils
¼ c Yellow Split Peas
¼ c Green Split Peas
½ c Wild Rice
Vegetable Broth 32 oz ( you can add more water if needed)
Sea Salt
Freshly Ground Black Pepper
1 Ham Hock
2 dry bay leaves
Saute onions, celery and carrots in olive oil until soft and translucent. Add sea salt and pepper (season as you go). Add your lentils, peas and rice and mix with the vegetables. Add vegetable broth, ham hock and bay leaves and bring to a soft boil. Let simmer for about 25 minutes. Add salt and pepper and your own seasonings if you like!

Beautiful, restful and I could almost smell that pumpkin bread! I loved the music because it takes me back to my childhood! My Mum and Dad would have jazz music on all the time, so I grew up loving it. My Dad also worked with leather crafting. He used to "tool" leather to make purses and belts for my Mum. This brought back wonderful memories of my childhood! Thank you.

So warm and cozy. We still have summer weather here. It’s 91 degrees and it feels like 98 degrees. I’ve been going through all my stuff giving things away. (Not my favorite things 😂). Four truck loads already have gone. I’ve been organizing which is my favorite thing to do. Our garage linen closet and sunroom are already “breathing a sigh of relief“. My right foot is still broken but I’m trying to get things done. I love the pretty leaf stamp. Take care ~ Janet

Yay, time for simmer pots, hot soup and pumpkin bread! Your pumpkin recipe reminded of me when I was teaching, every fall my students and I would make pumpkins muffins. Our not so secret ingredient was mini chocolate chips. Children who were skeptical, usually decided they did like pumpkin muffins. The smell of baked goods is such a pleasure.
