Very good and helpful advice! Here's another tip that might help: If anyone wonders, "After an disagreement, who should apologize first - the husband or the wife?"... the best answer I've heard is, "the one who was right"!

Try to lessen each other's burden, not increase it. Life is difficult enough without getting a lot of stress from your partner. One of the worse things we do is compare our partner with someone else, and say why can't you be more like XYZ? Maybe someone has more money, or the woman is more attractive, but what good can come from shaming your partner? That's one thing, but there are many more. Build your partner up because their happiness is your happiness. Thanks for the video!

Arlene, Ordinarily I would never listen to advice from anyone as young as you but my wife and I have always lived our lives together by the principles you discussed and that has made our marriage wonderful for the past 36 years. Also, we are glad you adhered to your parent's advice because we didn't get this old without knowing a thing or two.

You are a very submissive filipina wife...Where in the Bible did God say that the husband is the leader of the household ? Relationship between two people means just that. You should both be leaders together and for your kids.

Here are a few places backing her stance. Bible has plenty to say on the topic...even all the way back to Eden. Ephesians 5:22-23 - Wives, be subject to your husbands, as to the Lord. [23] For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior. Colossians 3:18 - Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord. 1 Timothy 2:12 - But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. Proverbs 14:1 - Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands. 1 Peter 3:5 - For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands: ============================================================================================================================ I am head of the house, I love, respect and cherish my Wife. We deliberate daily, both large and small topics across all aspects of our life. I take her council and weigh it when making decisions; far more often than not we reach an agreement. Together our prosperity has flourished. God has blessed our family immensely. There have been times where she objected to something and I did it anyways, not once have we had it backfire and in hindsight she will admit I made the right call. Ask her however if she feels the same way about the few times she went against my own objections and council. Spoiler alert: Not once has it been profitable for her/us when she has acted against Gods commands to submit.
