I have covered that a lot on this channel, I came up with a way to make a rubber version for very little. Great if it's your lawn and you aren't topdressing that often, once or twice a year. If you are a pro or using it a lot, a metal one is the way to go as it will last a lot longer kzbin.info/www/bejne/o6W8hoCNgN6cbKs

I had to replace a 4 inch pipe going through one corner of the lawn. I filled it in and seeded it but it has settled down a 3-4 inches. Grass growth is good. Do I put sand on that or layer on topsoil every so often so not to smother the lawn. Is it too late to do that now or does it need growth so the grass is growing through the sand or topsoil which ever you recommend.

Really helpful video. My lawn has become very uneven over the years, if you can’t get hold of the sand what would be the next best thing to use for trying to level the lawn.
@Premier_lawns_official4 жыл бұрын
David best to use screened topsoil. (Little and often is best) My lawn is build out of 70/30 (70 soil/ 30 sand) Sand is inert and doesn't hold nutrients. If you are top dressing you want to try and match what you are applying and try and keep it similar Constantly adding sand to a clay lawn will work against you. If you do it regularly it can create a barrier layer in the soil. I use the sand as it's already in the root zone...

Hey, Great job!! someone asked what kind of rake he was using, in the States we call that a lawn rake. Just one question, in the States, coming out of spring going into summer, we experience rain and humidity that often leads to fungus development in the lawn. Diseases such as brown patch, dollar spot, pythium blight, rust and others can really destroy your lawn. Do you guys have to fight these diseases. If so I would like to know how you identify and treat these funguses as my battle with them will soon start. You guys stay safe, and I'll be watching.
@Premier_lawns_official4 жыл бұрын
We don't get those diseases here that often. The diseases that lawns get in the uk and Ireland is red thread and Fusarium. Lots of rules and regulations here for the chemicals to treat. Though shouldn't be an issue for this lawn. All the best and thanks for stopping by 😁

Handy tip... children’s play sand is round and doesn’t lock together if you want a cheaper alternative.

Good tip, thanks 😁

Adam Smith .... Not really a good tip as Play Pit Sand is typically fine/very fine particle size which isn’t ideal.. USGA Sand is predominately Medium /Coarse.. UK Sand is predominately Medium/Fine..

Hi Robbie, I have a lawn that was poorly laid before I moved in so it slopes down but is also bumpy so needs top dressing to level out. Would you suggest Levelling it out first and then growing grass before top dressing later in the year

Topdressing is levelling...

What's the tool you used to drag over the lawn after you'd placed the sand down?
@Gloryofthereef2 жыл бұрын
Anyone know what this tool is called? Would be nice to know what to ask around for
@goldenrakelawncare65642 жыл бұрын
It’s called a drag. You can buy them or easily make one with a small section of chain link fence.
