Great recommendations! I’ve adopted a few of them (except for gas and oil type) over the last 6 years, and I totally agree. Keeping an eye on oil, using a good air filter (OEM), the correct antifreeze type, spark plugs (every 100K miles or less), coils, and suspension parts will definitely keep your car running great. I own a 2007 LS460 with 315K miles on it. I was planning to sell it at the beginning of this year because I wanted a newer car, but I decided to keep it until it doesn’t run anymore. Great video!

Make sure to keep up on transmission maintenance! I bought mine at 83k miles, previous owners didn't do any fluod changes. I didnt notice it until I got it done, but it shifts wayyyyy smoother now in all of the gears. I believe 60k miles is the best time to swap the fluid but all i know is that the "lifetime fluid" is a lie.

The oil discussion comes up a lot with the 2GR and I think it really just comes down to changing your oil often even before it's due + using the same brand every time + not being over/under filled. I started using Castrol GTX which is a conventional oil every 3,000 miles and my 2006 is buttery smooth and burns maybe 0.5q between changes. But lots of people want to use a full synthetic oil so they can wait 5,000mi. Also what you said about Chevron is true, our cars like something about their additive package.

I had to put Chevron to shut my fuel pump chirps up. Initially I thought a loose belt tensioner. After digging it the fuel pump making noise despite the recall has been done. I do feed her Texas Buccee's 93 premium no Ethanol gas and so far she seem to be happy. As far as MPG difference between gas brand, I do not notice as much. Because once the right foot is down on the pedal the GSF would drop from 29 highway MPG to 16 MPG. FYI any Toyota part that contains YZZ mean it a lower grade part that made to compete with aftermarket part so it cheaper than original part but still conform to Toyota/Lexus quality requirement. I put original air filter and cabin filter for my GSF. I been used Mobil 1 oil for years in other vehicle, however I notice once switched to Pennzoil the motor seem to rev more freely. If I drove the car more often I would use Asmoil full synthetic, but right now the yearly avg is 2700 miles. Things you did not mentioned in the video as follow. Trying to avoid multiple short trips, rev the car out when engine oil temp not to operating temp. I am not sure your F sport has oil temp read out, but in my GSF it has coolant and engine oil temp read out. Oil change interval is another factor, every 6 months/5000 miles or 12 months/5000 miles if you use synthetic as oiil change cost is cheaper than motor replacement cost. Cabin air filter and engine air filter is due every 12 months/12k miles (I do it every other oil change interval). Replace transmission fluid and rear differential every 60k miles. Engine coolant is every 5 years/60k miles (stick with Toyota pink coolant). Another maint item often over looked is A/C. Every vehicle I owned, I have A/C evacuated and recharge up to factory specs every 5 years. This to avoid lack of lubrication of compressor. Full evac and recharge cost $145 vs system replacement $2500.

Man, I'm so jealous you got an oil temp gauge. The GS doesn't even have a sensor that an OBDII scanner can read. Good tip on the A/C!! That one was new to me for sure. Hey Eddie! New subscriber here. I recently bought a 23' IS 350 last month! It was a tough choice between a 20' GS 350 and the new 21+ IS 350s, but went with the IS. Anyways, I saw Lexus made an F-Sport intake filter (Part # PTR0353141AA). Do you think these will be a decent second option since it is OEM? Those will fit my car and i'm sure theres a version for the GS as well. I already bought it and it is arriving tomorrow. I've seen those other videos comparing intake filters, and the graph in your video was in regards to K&N. Only reason I bought it is because it is made by Lexus and that part will fit my intake as well. Interesting you mentioned the ECO mode for climate controls. I never noticed that until now in my car. Going to swap to ECO and see how well that works. Hopefully I dont notice a difference haha. Btw, i've seen a bunch of your videos and from I recall I dont think you have any LED door projector puddle lights. It is a very cheap mod and will project the lexus or fsport logo on the ground when you open the door. Might be something you'd be interested in and possibly even make a vid out of? I recently bought the V3 on lexusacc.com with the Lexus logo, looks just like the OEM lights lexus puts in some of their newer lines.

Ahhh bro! What's funny is I was about to make a vid on it!!! I was going to compare the F Sport filter vs the OEM and see how good it filters. I backed out cause I was like man, I don't feel like spending $200 on filters. I had the F Sport Intake/Filter on my IS 350, the filter in the vid was the one I had on my IS. When I used Mobil 1 I did start burning a little bit of oil but when I switched to Penz it stopped, so I think the filter worked pretty good. I had my F Sport intake for like 50k miles before i sold my IS. Honestly if you live in an area like florida that has very little dirt/particles. I'd run it no probs. And ahh thanks bro! I've been tempted to get some, I'll look into it!

@@EddieGS350 Thanks for the reply!! Question. Do you think the F sport intake filter was the cause of your car burning a little bit of oil in the IS? Sorry I'm not that smart with how the mechanics of a car works haha Also side note. How are your WELL visors holding up? Have you noticed any fading esp on the chrome part?? Reason why I ask is because I dont have window visors yet, but i've had some in the past on other vehicles and the chrome started peeling and fading it looked horrible after a couple years. BTW the ones i had in the past were not the WELL visors. Curious to see how yours has held up over time.

I've owned my 2014 LS460 F-sport since 2016 and I have done so much preventative mentenance (by dealer and independant shops) and it'S not cheap car to own. I love the car but I don't drove it anymore cause my brain is always concerned about what could go wrong instead of enjoying the car... it's really sad. On the other hand I drive my throw away Honda everyday and I enjoy it and more than my garage queen LS cause I don't care what happens to the Honda. Every day I'm reminded that it's time to sell the car and the only reason I haven't sold is because it's the last of the NA V8's, can't stomach the thought of a V6 cause I've always bought LS.

Ahh you'll be fine. I know the lower control arms are a weakpoint on those but if you aren't the type of guy who plows through speedbumps they'll be fine. Nice, you got a DD, my GS takes all the beatings lol.

@@EddieGS350 I replaced all 8 OEM earlier in the year and it MF'ing sucked!!! I also knocked out the valley plate leak, that one had me on edge because the indy shop told me about cracking injectors. Those are the last big ticket items I'm willing to pay for, anything else and I'm folding!

Even the ISF Lexus has the same issue with the valley plate 2008 to 2014 . Used this pink looking gasket seal and it leaked from what I have heard still waiting for it to happen on mine.

The ONLY way to sort out that VP leak is to go in and do the surgery, if you can do it yourself, I tip my hat to you. It’s not a cheap job to do. I was sick to my stomach when I saw what it looked like.

It’s time to enjoy your car. I had the same thoughts 5 years ago when I got my 2007 LS460. Watching all these videos about what could go wrong with the car made me sick to my stomach, thinking I’d just gotten myself into a money pit. However, after 5 years and 50K miles, the car still runs like a champ. I replaced the upper and lower control arms myself-not a bad job-and saved 5K. The car now has 315K miles on it. I’ll keep it until it either doesn’t run anymore or the repairs cost 40% or more of the car’s value. How many miles on your LS460 ?

Ahh you are lucky, your car doesn't have the picky fuel pump. The 16-17 models are prone to the chirps. Tbh there are times when I fill up with Costco cause im cheap lol. There are times I get the chirps and there are times I don't but with Chevron I never chirp.
