Thank you for this canning recipe. And thank you Leisa and Forjars for Canuary. "There is no such thing as dry canning---there is vacuum sealing and there is trying to kill your family" ---love that!! and SO true!!

It’s sad, but I’ve been seeing more and more dry canning of potatoes videos. One lady in particular had paid some organization to approve the recipe as safe. I’m not sure how that works, but I think I’ll give it a hard pass.

I have been wanting to do burritos in a jar since last year but have been to lazy to watch or read how to do it until now. Thank you, Leisa, for all the information and this visual aid for all us new canning people. I'm 72 and just started a year ago so I confess to being careful what I try or do. I thoroughly enjoy Canuary 2023 and now 2024 and have learned so much from you all. So, thank you.

I just turned 70 last month and began water bath canning about two years ago. I did my first pressure canning last week with a recipe from Canuary. It was the Pot Roast meal in a jar and being brain dead I forgot which smart canner I got it from. It was delicious!

Dont want beans,just omit,add canned beans ,on your shelf after you heat up.if desired.add salsa too,you canned up. So easy. Or can beans,can meat with burritos seasoning,use canned onions,canned vegetables...Heat on stove add to tortillas. Or make a soup. Its that easy.

Oh my gosh!!! That looks amazing. This could even be used as a nacho platter topping. Heat up, layer over some tortilla chips sprinkle cheese, pop in oven to get an even melt. Then chow down! Thank you for the recipe creating you have been doing recently. These recipes are delicious looking and can’t wait to try them out. ❤

I just want to say that I am so thankful I began this canning journey. This past week we lost power for a few days. I lost NO meat that I canned! All my jars stayed sealed and I still have a lot of wonderful meat on my shelf. I can't wait to try burritos in the jar, I do love my canned pork!

These are my absolute favorite kind of recipes! Those look gorgeous ❤ I got blessed this spring with a 1989 Presto 500, from a local yard sale for $15.00! 🙌 🙌 I looked for several years 😂 I am new to this and wanted a way to can my green beans, and food in a jar for me and hubby! I just found “1870’s homestead with Rachel” ❤ turns out she’s been doing what I was called to do for the past 3 yrs, also. I hunt, gather & preserve my garden ❤ And now thanks to you & the other beautiful ladies, my playlist for “Pressure Canning”, is growing by leaps & bounds ❤ thank you for sharing & helping create this new world for me to explore! Aldi has a great Spanish rice. It takes less than 10 mins to cook. I think that would be great in this. Either cooked in with the mixture like you did the white rice or made separately and added to the burrito. Great recipe, thanks Leisa!

Thank you for this recipe and showing us how to make the actual burrito with them. This looks amazing. I make a lot of rice, so I'm thinking of thickening the broth and adding my leftover rice. Thank you for repeating the need for people NOT to use unapproved canning recipes and to follow SAFE canning practices. So very important.

Love this! Tonight's dinner at our house, is actually turkey burrito bowls using pressure canned Turkey with broth in the instapot with some extras, smells delicious & I can't wait for the hubster to get home to eat dinner! Never in my wildest dream thought about canning up burrito in a jar! You always have the best ideas for rotating flavors in your pantry. 🎉❤I just bought 20 lbs of ground beef. I made 10lbs of meatballs today (for the freezer) but will be making burritos in a jar with the other 10lbs! Thanks for the awesome tip and something extra special for the pantry!!

I really appreciate the effort you put into educating seasoned and new canners by presenting SAFE canning procedures. One of my granddaughters wanted to learn how to can and asked for my advice. We live 500 miles for each other so I shared what knowledge I could and then told her to watch your KZbin channel. She is now obsessed with canning.

I have learned so many ways of canning different types of recipes. Once you get into canning, it becomes quite addictive. And there is nothing more satisfying than preparing something today that you can use weeks and months down the road at which time meal prep is so simple. The journey my justifications went on from beginning to end of this!😆 I was not interested in the least because like you, I’m not typically a meal canner. But hey…I’ve got freezer pork. Hey… I love a good burrito. Hey…my hubs could use a shortcut for nights he’s on his own. Now I think I have to make some burritos in a jar! This looks so good I had to comment twice. I'm thinking of southwestern egg rolls with the tomato gravy for dipping sauce. So many recipes you can use this in. As a former USDA inspector I appreciate the safety comments to educate. As someone new to canning reminders are welcomed. I cannot wait to make this. Hats off to the creator.

Thank you for hosting CANERARY collaborative. My husband likes these types of shelf stable foods. I enjoy canning. My first was a terrible FAILURE!!!!! I water bathed some vegetables. They sealed and everything like they were supposed to. 4-6 months later opened up 1. NOT a pleasant smell. Tried to feed to the chickens.😮 They turned up their beaks at it. It was not funny at first. (Had to dispose of 50 jars) 😂 Now I get to laugh about how ignorant I was about canning.😊 It took me 4-5 years of researching before I felt comfortable to try canning again. Was gifted a pressure canner and have worn it out, according to extension office. So it's time to save money to buy a new one before tomatoes are to be harvested and canned.
