I use a trio plus band looper pedal.. It the thing rules.. you play a chord progression into it, it learns it and suddenly you have a drummer and bass player playing appropriate pattern/key based on what you played. You can then loop in something and solo over or just practice chords. Makes practice so much more musical.

While i have started learning mojor scale 5 shapes on fretboard as quoted 'very mandatory' by my friends. This lesson helped me understand applications of those 5 shapes in context of chords. However, when it comes to going into lead part straight after playing chord I really suck at maintaining the same tempo. Please do the video related to this if possible which focuses on right hand while doing this. Thanks Sean for coming up with cool stuff alwayssssss.

Can you do a video or segment or Thumb Independence for fingerstyle (alternating bass notes while playing melody)? I've also haven't seen anything on Question Time about Tommy Emanuel... Are you a fan of his and/or his style? Have you ever checked out Sungha Jung or Gabriella Quevado?

My issue is I have a problem learning the chords voicings. I know when you show them to me but idk why they are the way they are, if that makes sense?
@seandaniel236 жыл бұрын
Right on Wyatt, that's why it's all about memorizing a few root notes and then being able to apply the chords there, if that makes sense.

What equipment and settings are you using here? Amp, pedals, whatever. It's another thing I need to start sorting when I play electric and I like the tone you've got going on here.
@budandbean17 жыл бұрын
I was going to ask the same thing cuz your guitar sounds really amazing... You are going straight into your preamp then into your daw aren't you? Post processing your signal, not using an amp at all... Right?
@seandaniel237 жыл бұрын
+Buddy Martin so it's really just the strat going into my mesa boogie 5:25 express on the clean channel with the gain barely up. There's a decent amount of the amps reverb on. I also use 2 mics, one for my voice and an sm7 on the cabinet but there's no post processing. It really is a great amp.

Hey, Sean. Why do people tune their guitars to Eb? I don't understand how it makes a difference other than having access to new notes on the open strings.
@down8137 жыл бұрын
Yeah... I've been hoping for an explanation.
@javierbenez74387 жыл бұрын
It allergy affects timbre. Try it out, I'm not a fan of playing that way, but plenty of people are.
@javierbenez74387 жыл бұрын
*also affects timbre. auto-correct.
@seandaniel237 жыл бұрын
+Adam DeSapio there are a couple reasons. When you tune down is slackens the strings and gives it a different tone and feel. Also it gives you a key a half step lower that a lot of people feel more comfortable singing in.
@tektonik74667 жыл бұрын
Also it's the tuning of alto and baritone sax. This tuning originally came from r n b when you had rhythm guitar and horns forming the rhythm section. Hendrix used to play in little Richards and Curtis Knights band and I think that's where he got it from.
