I super glued a strip of popped bicycle innertube to my flick spot on my skate kicks. I do this as soon as my sock is exposed. You can go as big or small as you need with the rubber strip. It's definitely one of the best ideas I have implemented in my skating!

Haven't Used Shoo Goo since the 90s. I used to put a thin light precoat over a fresh pair where they would rip. Still looked fresh and lasted a bit longer.

So you skate a few times then add a precoat.

Way back in the day (mid 90's) we had these shoe shield cap things that we'd glue on our shoes. It's was like a hard rubber cap that would cover the entire front outer portion of the shoe and protect it from wear from ollies, kickflips, etc. The downside was it didn't really feel like the shoe rubber and always got caught on stuff. Plus they looked ridiculous and sometimes we'd get teased from the preppy skaters that we couldn't afford new shoes. Ah, the life and times of a broke skater kid. We also tried a rubberized coating similar to what you'd put on hand tool grips that we got from Home Depot. We'd just dip the entire front part of the shoe in the can of liquid rubber, wipe off the bottom of the shoe, and let it dry. It worked but would only last like one session cause it was so grippy it would just end up stuck in the grip tape. I remember it was a weird look with blue rubber covering the entire front of my black & white almost completely destroyed Airwalks. lol

ahhh good ol shoe goo. That was my trade secret back in the 2000s to keep the shoe goin for another month when i was in my teens. If people saw that shoe goo on your skate shoes... they knew you be rippin lol. And on your gooin the lace idea. What i did back then, i actually built up a small lace guard “wall” in front of the laces. It really made the shoe look “ghetto” but IDGAF back then haha. Kept the laces goin if you didnt have those expensive DVS n DC shoes wit built in lace protection.

hey RIKKI, I was wondering when you create/ pick out a board (say an 8.0”) do you look/ feel out the size of the tail and or the nose? I’ve been staking for about 5yr and only just realised that is a lot of variation to tail and nose! Can you make a vid explaining about why this is & if you have a preference, & what means for you when you skate, to have say a longer tail or nose? Kind Regards Luke !

superglue your stitches before you skate in your shoes. less is more. when you start seeing a hole start to form, rub a little on the material. you dont need much just a thin layer and just keep up with it every week. when you put too much on the shoe doesnt flex with your foot. but superglueing your stitches in your high wear areas are a must to keep your shoes together. even when youwear the stitches away the glue is still holding the the threading that is between the layers of the shoes.

I've never used shoe goo. I always saved old shoes. And used "crazy glue". I'd cut pieces off my old shoe and put it on my new shoes using crazy glue. It'd last just as long as a new pair cuz it's using high quality materials like real sued. Shoe goo seems like a mess. And doesn't seem like it'd last as long. If my patches ever got loose crazy glue only costs about $2 max. And I'd have a lot of material left over from the shoe I cut up #REALSkateHack
