etap.com/netpm - Welcome to this presentation dedicated to addressing the unique challenges of managing power distribution networks in the Western Downs region of Queensland, Australia. With extensive natural gas reserves and thousands of wells, our area's dynamic infrastructure presents ongoing hurdles in data collection, network monitoring, and reliable studies.
The Problem:
Gas wells in our region have lifespans of 10 to 15 years, cycling between active production and periods of dormancy. Meanwhile, decommissioning and commissioning of wells occur regularly. Each well requires a power supply, leading to a constantly evolving power distribution network spread across vast distances. These conditions make data collection, network monitoring, and studies challenging, often resulting in unreliable results.
The Solution:
To tackle these challenges, we've implemented an innovative solution centered around ETAP. Using the etapAPP™ and NetPM™, we maintain an up-to-date master model shared among multiple subcontracted consultancies. This master model serves as the foundation for load flow studies conducted by various consultancies, each using their localized model synchronized with the master via NetPM. Moving forward, we're exploring bringing the model online through ETAP Real Time products.

Before implementation, we conduct thorough cybersecurity audits, addressing any issues found and strictly controlling access to protect our valuable data.
