How to Manually Shift a BMW into Neutral with Electronic Shifter

By chance do you know the thread size of the bolt to put car in neutral on 2014 x3 mines is missing

If you remove the plastic shifter knob panel there’s a lock for the physical key hidden in the key fob.. you put that key in and unlock it.. then take a screwdriver and stick it in the hole and move it down all the way and it will be in neutral

Actually I’m so glad I watched this video! After 3 tedious hours of working on my car to make it shift into neutral (since it doesn’t crank up) THIS VIDEO showed me what to do for my --2012 750i --. What a happy surprise. Apparently removing the cover beneath the car wasn’t even needed- ha! Lesson learned.
