Idk if anyone is gonna read this, but im writing it anyways: I havent really seen any youtuber talk about this, but i'm currently learning directional air roll and i got 1 major tipp. If you are on PC you can use bakkes mod to slow down the game speed (in freeplay only ofc) .... i have 4 speeds i use, 0.25x 0.5x 0.75x and 1x ... i used the 0.25 to learn the most basic aerial spinning, only steering when my hood is facing me (the camera)... when i got a few stages on lethamyrs rings map with this, i moved up the speed to 0.5, and so on.... after that, i did the same with when the underside of my car was facing the cam.... then you can also do the sides if you want, i should have done it probably, but didnt want to :D then i tried to constantly steer in 0.25x speed.. dont matter which face is facing me, putting it all together... thats the stage im currently in... i still often blackout, but this will come over time. hope i could help anyone with that... that really helped me understand the movements. ofc you can also do this for dribbling, flicks, airdribbles... but be careful, the car movement speed is hard to judge when in slower gamespeed, so it might not be the best for some situations to learn it that way

One thing that helped me although I'm still practicing is this: Move with the ball and not against it after that first touch in the aerial. In other words allow the momentum to carry you through the air with the ball. This is the time for fine control, your time to think, rolling or pulling up and whatnot to line up the touch. There is very little boosting if any at this point. When you see players looking all flashy with air rolls here that's what they're doing. They're getting their car positioned in a way that allows them to be in control for the touch, not fighting to be closer to the ball.
@codashorts48342 жыл бұрын
Also, another benefit to spinning is when you go for a double tap you can keep control instead of your car just leaning back because of the force of the ball.
@axroph20242 жыл бұрын
I seriously don't know how you do it, but you somehow make it so everything makes sense. I didn't really follow along with the training, but just started air rolling around in training, trying to figure out where my car went with different inputs. Then I started to figure it out and started piecing together all the dots, and it just like clicked. It's really a surreal feeling, just having it click for the first time, now knowing what I actually have to do. I'm definitely following this training routine to get better at this. Thank you my man

In my opinion normal air roll should only be used with your drift key bind for movement like wavedashing. And directional air roll should be used for all your aerial mechanics. It just provides much more control and more options.

@@300iqbaguette6 i would love to explain further do you have a specific question in mind for starters?
@300iqbaguette6 Жыл бұрын
@@zeitz4473 why do you think directional airroll should be used for all aerial mechanics and provides more control/options?. If you hold air roll and lead the Stick to the top right or left its the same as if you press up and directional airroll left or right. Just not as consistent because you can mess up or hold for to long or get a slightly wrong direction. Correct me if i am wrong. Just my toughts because i only use 1 directional airroll and most of the time Just the normal air roll

QOTD: not getting tilted for having a teammate spamming what a save with 6 total points in a 5 min game... yes I am plat!
@Reaper-qo8tn3 жыл бұрын
hey, sometimes the guy with less points is really playing significantly better. usually on the defensive. i just hit diamond 2 today, from plat 3, and i averaged 210 points per game, with mainly clears and assists. you taking a solo play is actually a huge disadvantage, unless you're already locked into it to buy your teammates time. Main 1s, too, because your mechanics are down if you're a plat, and by mechanics...i don't mean flip resets. i mean flicks, dribbles, and basic aerials. and...quite ironic that you say "not getting tilted" and phrase it in a way that only puts blame on your teammates. don't chase the ball. they will end up with more points, shots, saves, and so on. stop cutting your teammates off. be on the right part of the field. do better kickoffs. stop shooting shots that can be defended. fake them. pass to a teammate. you're at fault for losing, just as much as your teammates are. i've got less than 120 hours, but i've played sarpbc, grew up on racing games, and love physics games. the competitivity is why i play this game...and to be competitive, you have to get over yourself. your mistakes put your teammates in a bad position, just like theirs do to you. not worthy of qotd.

i recently got to GC1 for the first time and i realized i realy need to learn this. The tutorial itself is great but i found something that really helped me a lot. I unbinded my normal air roll from L1 to nothing so i dont use it on accident. (i only disable it in training) I found it when training this i mess things up by using normal air roll. I dont know if any reads this but if you do: TRY IT

3 years late for this, but I started playing rocket league with a passion, trying out different things. Right now for your question of the day I fear the player base the most. Not all people are like that but I meet a few ones that literally "toy" with me. I know i'm not that good and all, but the opponent always uses his current skill set to make fun of me. My nerves are not that great and I have slight anger issues. I don't type in the chat as rocket league detection system is incredibly sensitive, so instead i can't vent on anything else except going away from the game to release some of that frustration into something else. I'm currently searching for the best ways to improve myself and techniques to counter those people and to get myself to a good rank. I'm incredibly happy for this video as i'm already practicing the air rolls and i'm getting a hang of it. I just wish people didn't laugh at me for being bad :(
