- Why Wing Chun likely is the most supperior martial art in the world
- What makes Wing Chun so different from other styles
- How you actualy become a Smarter Fighter and what that really means
This is not about right or wrong. It's about what is most ideal depending on the situation.

Exactly this is true.. I'm practicing and learning wing chun under the great master samuel kwok.. This art is always very effective specially in short range and can be used perfectly for ground level too.. Also I'm practicing kali as a weapon art and I can see there are so many similarities between these two styles.. I'm from Sri Lanka..❤

My latest teacher, Jerry Yeung (from PVTGroup), who is a student of Wong Shun-Leung, also raised similar thoughts in his book: If you can constantly stay in your advantageous position and distance, why bother going to the ground or outside? WC is never about being on the ground or dealing with opponents at a long distance. First, know what is your advantageous area, and then direct/force/invite your opponent to play with you within that area so you can constantly remain the advantage, eventually, leading your opponent to follow your direction (You can do whatever you want as your opponent can only react, follow what you leading them to 獨行其事,屈敵從己)

You don’t need to master wing chun to be successful in a street fight. And it’s no different from any art form. Be it Martial , musical or creative. You continue to improve through proper guidance and practice. Mastering Wing Chun is the same. After the best tuition available , I can not say I have mastered it after 46 years. I love it. I continue to find something new and improve.

Muay Boran( strike for survival ) to Muay Thai (striking exchange sport) is the same comparison as other martial arts vs Wing chun. Assume your outnumbered and need to escape the exchange alive. Assume you or others you care for are in immediate lethal danger. Rooting, circling, 2-hands , nothing left unchecked.

@@curtisweber5257 You have not answered my question. Regarding your hypothetical situation, situation awareness will prevent me from getting trapped in to such confrontation. A martial art is only good if it is perpetually evolving through competitions. The teacher must have proven record of professional level fighting, and nurturing students to professional level competitons. The training method should be modern with one on one pad work, for striking martial art.

A few top level mma / UFC fighters have already adopted Wing Chun into their training. It helped, but it didn't revolutionise their ability. The martial arts is a journey. There's many paths that are all striving for the same location. But no one path is right for every practicioner. Superior? Be careful with your words. I'd put good money on most boxers and wrestlers with 2+ years training getting past your tapping range. Also, I personally found while training Wing Chun that they have a weakness for strikes coming from the outside because most things are focused down the centre.

I see no evidence whatsoever that Wing Chun is such a great martial art as the Wing Chun enthusiasts always proclaim. They tend to not provide much evidence either.

That's because it's been commercialised, it's so far from it's roots. It's actually a free style system based on principles and body mechanics. Most confuse training exercise, drills etc with application. It's served me very well in a professional capacity when working in secure units, where boxing etc is inappropriate. Often find a lot of door men, security, prison guards in WC. I would go so far as to say 90% WC schools have no idea what they are doing.

@@UnjustVerdict no I can't supply evidence, but I'm not sure that I need too. I only have my own experience to go on, and that's enough for me. If you're sincerely curious maybe look at some of Alan Orrs WC. Or find a quality teacher and try for yourself.

Plenty of evidence as to its effectiveness. How has it been over 400 years in existence if it doesn't work. Its popularity and prominence has also been it's own worst enemy.People also have unrealistic expectations of it from movies 2nd and 3rd rate Sifus just cashing in unfortunately

😂😂 so true! He keeps getting it on his other videos. I always dominated with my wing chun. On the street and in sparring. So.I know with proper traing wing chun is really good. I'm 50 years old now, I still train for keeping myself fit. I do a Japanese martial art now and all the youngsters have trouble with when we spar. Haha. But it is just for keeping myself fit. I traing battujutsu now as I always wanted to learn katana techniques. Anyway, when fighting, I still use wing chun. It is simple and works.

OMG They keep trying to bring Wing Chun back again? Whats the point trying to hype up an old outdated TMA...actually doing any Martial Art being an Adult is quite pointless and a big waste of time! But if you are going to go do Martial Arts anyways don't go waste your time with Wing Chun...Wing Chun sucks...same like Aikido sucks... why? Because you waste to much time and energy trying to salvage something effective out these old TMAs...its just the dumbest route one can take if they want to really learn how to Fight or defend themselves! Wing Chun is Chinese right...how many Chinese people are in the world? How many still practice Wing Chun or Kung fu maybe 0.1% so there's your answer! ( REAL FORMER KUNG FU PRACTIONER PERSON ) I'm not staff hired by YT!!!
