It didn't end up being important because of the canvas, but before I knew that was the plan I was thinking it would have looked good to do the bottom of the round tubes in green and transition to red/brown on top. That seems to follow the general pattern of upper areas of the body that start to curve back in having rust on them and lower section that curve under having more paint. I think it turned our great in the end. The canvas looks perfect on there.

No epoxy primer on exposed steel? No gloves? That"s why importing cars from US is risky business peoples in US have no idea about rust protection :(
@dallasbishop65193 жыл бұрын
The brown/red paint looks like rustoleum rust prevention primer. Considering they didn't have fisheye I'd suspect the wipe down was done off camera.
@jakubstrumillo3 жыл бұрын
@@dallasbishop6519 they touch steel while painting, and spray can primers are only for repairs... far behind proper epoxy primers.
@dallasbishop65193 жыл бұрын
@@jakubstrumillo I understand what your point is, but it's just that your original statement of "no primer", appears to be false. As far as no gloves, there is a close up of them painting with gloves on. I'm not sure if you are just cranky or a miserable person in general. Its an old truck that isnt in pristine condition and will likely see offroad often. So to put a $6000 paint job on it is beyond absurd. It can now be used and touched up rather easily. You watch a few videos and somehow made an assumption that the whole of the United States cant paint or know how to prevent rust protection. Being clueless is a you problem. Unfortunately we import plenty of that already so you can deal with our rusty cars
@jakubstrumillo3 жыл бұрын
@@dallasbishop6519 not really, spraycan is no epoxy primer ;)
@tonyb20863 жыл бұрын
@@jakubstrumillo they want to use rattle cans, sure why not thats there business. Saying people in US do not know anything about rust prevention is ludicrous. I live in Northern Illinois, I could teach you a few things about rust proofing😊
