I just meditated for about 1 min and i when i opened my eyes i felt great i didnt think about anything its peaceful.

This is adulterated form of meditation but good for starters. Meditation actually doesn't involve any spirituality, saying mantras or anything visualisation or forced concentration. The purpose of meditation is also NOT to achieve a point of "absolute zero thinking" which many people think of. It is job of our mind to think and it will stop thinking only when we die :p. Meditation is actually about observing and let go of our thoughts and emotions with equanimity that arises and it neutralizes all our inner thoughts completely ( from both conscious and subconscious level) which in the end automatically brings peace of mind and balance. In highest form of mediation , people experience inner sound, live in a very moment, and are great observers of everything around with a inner sense of tranquility. Meditation acts on deeper level and doesn't create distraction from problems of REAL LIFE WHICH UNFORTUNATELY MANY PEOPLE THINK OF. It promotes acceptance of reality and makes one a rational thinker and teaches to live with it gracefully.

amiasakawa You don't have to stop thinking. Our mind is a organ which is made for thinking itself. It's like asking heart to stop pumping and still remain alive . You can only stop it by dying lol. You just need to observe your thoughts with equanimity, let it pass and again bringing back attention to breathing.

Yep. I've been meditating 10 min a day for about a week and I can already see the improvements in my concentration (mostly while studying or reading), perception and quality of sleep.

My dad has been meditating on his early morning walks lately, and he has been doing so many cool things. Today he did my chores for me for no reason before he left for school. I think I'll try it.

Similar to Victor here, i am only 15 years of age, but i enjoy various forms of meditation. While i may not be in a perfect form of meditation, i will simply sit back in a quiet place and contemplate on a great many things. I am an aspiring scientist (Astrophysics and Chemistry) and during these times i have aquired my most awe inspiring ideas. I greatly recommend any form of meditation, and for any length of time.

I tend to meditate a lot myself. It's helped me in a lot of ways, and in the long run it's actually helped me to clear my thoughts well enough to understand myself. c: It's also saved me from falling into depression after being stuck at home for nearly two years.

when you meditate, even for 5 minutes you feel a surge of energy (you feel focused) this is because you have given yourself time to breath, and relax. Yes it is normal.

Ive been meditating for years. Ive reached several different levels. It is a truly amazing experience for everyone who does it. When you master meditation, and you can fully focus it for 3-4 hours, its amazing the things that start happening. Master meditation is so much better than just 10 mins, yay i feel better. There is so much more to it. It's awesome. Like

when i did that meditaing for 100 seconds it felt so amazing in the end. I going to start meditating every day for at least 5 mins then step it up an minute or tow until im at ten minutes every day

I do this for 15-20 minutes after I turn my lights off at night, it really helps me just relax and sleep peacefully. And it also helps me stay focused and calm the next day! Thanks WatchWelcast

what helps me when I go into a thought process like that, is to concentrate on an "aspect" of my life I feel I could do better on as a "focal point". something like my anger, emotions, determination, self-confidence, or the past/future self. just make SURE you don't sink into thoughts about how to change it; just imagine it "as is" in it's current state. acknowledge it, your view on it, and just...let it go.

to allow more air and blood flow, but honestly, I get caught up too much on that too. the only point is to focus on a central "point", whatever that may be. like I said in another post, it can be thoughts, emotions, or breathing, or it can be something physical like a tile, sounds, a certain object (to drown out other thoughts.) "acknowledgment" for internal and "observation" for external is key; everything else is just the bells and whistles, really.

When I can't sleep, like on vacation or something, I usually focused on my breathing and all kinds of thoughts drift in and out of my mind. I used to do this before I watched, and I had not idea I was meditating!!!

I used to do a thing when I was stressed in school. I closed my eyes and imagined all my tension and anger and other negative emotions gathering in the center of my chest. I took long, deep breaths and as I exhaled, I imagined the stress pushing through my chest and along my arms. It takes a few deep breaths, but each time, imagine the stress being forced out of your body through your fingertips, like you're squeezing toothpaste. You should be pretty relaxed by then. ~ tips~

One of my best things I've learned on meditation through my journey is as follows: --Overcomplicating meditation is just your mind trying to get away from mediation I've learned the truth in this because our modern/egoic mind thrives in overthinking despite all the suffering that overthinking causes in our lives. Therefore when we bring ourselves back to the present moment, our ego fears its survival because it's getting silenced. Therefore the only way to create a meditation habit is to either just do it, or trick your mind into doing it by feeding it with all the benefits of meditating even though one of the outcomes is the silencing of the mind itself.

I was forced to meditate from the age of 5 after a week I loved it and have meditated every day since top tip meditate in or just before hopping into bed for a calm relaxed day ahead and it makes sleep easy

How did I feel? more relaxed. Also this video is more simple and seems to cater for the modern times audience rather than the really weird meditation how to videos out there.
