A little brake grease should also be applied to the two fingers of the caliper where it will contact the back of the outer pad. Thanks for the video.

I don't understand how you measure the torque ( I'm from Europe) : was it 20 pound force? I need Nm. And... Where do you take these values from, pls?
@Leonardo555ZZZ5 жыл бұрын
A good idea is to push the piston in with the C clamp before removing the caliper.
@davidwhitehouse32435 жыл бұрын
best thing iv found is to use the old pad against the piston when pushing back the piston then you dont damage the piston with the G clamp

Hi Fupabox! I needed your help/thoughts and posted in your discussion forum. Then I realized you do not get notified when someone post there. I didn't want to retype everything and it would not let me copy and paste here. Please look at my post and let me know what you think. Thanks for everything!

Don’t suppose you have a part number for the calliper do you?

Thanks for sharing your knowledge... you make it look so easy.. Can I ask if it's essential to use a torque wrench? Are there sensors on both front left & right brake pads ? thanking you in advance... Sam
@fupabox8 жыл бұрын
yes there are sensors on both sides on the front pads..A torque wrench isn't 100% necessary (blue thread locker is necessary) but it is a good idea to get one when you have the chance.. an over or under tightened bolt can be dangerous

What is the torque for the 18 mm bolts that you have to undo on the calliper to change the rotor? Many thank

Hi there, great video. One question: what happens if i don't open the brake fluid reservoir. I wont be able to push the brake piston back in? After the change, i can simply put the reservoir cap back on top? Thank you.
@fupabox4 жыл бұрын
If you don't open the reservoir cap the air can still escape , and the piston will still retract ,so it isn't 100% necessary. Generally if you have added fluid at some point before changing the pads , you may have a bit too much fluid once the piston is retracted which you will have to suck out with a turkey baster or whichever method works for you. I usually just open the cap so that it's easier to monitor the level while retracting the piston

I have a 1 Le can of copper grease, I take it that would be just as good yes and if it is not what would be the reason,? Great videos 👍

+eldin dukic I like Centric posi quiet ceramic pads...no black brake dust on the wheels, and they are nearly impossible to wear out..not quite impossible, but they last a long time

Wrong , w203 and w209 are the same,, Most w209 have floating calipers , only clk55 and some clk500 with performance brakes have fixed front calipers. CLK240 ,320 ,350 etc have floating front calipers.
