How to merge to HDR in Capture One with the Photomatix plugin

Does this allow for export to anything other than TIFF? Such as RAW or DNG?

Can I still do this if I have Capture One? I just installed Photomatix and its not giving me the option

Hello Olga, Usually the plugin is under Edit with > Merge to HDR with Photomatix Pro. If that entry is missing, go to Edit > Preferences > Plugins tab and check if the plugin is listed and enabled. Click Enable it if it isn't enabled yet.

And what if you install Capture One after updating Photomatix Pro? Is it still possible to add Photomatix as a plugin for Capture One?

Yes, you will just need to run the Photomatix Pro installer again so that it installs the plugin, as it will have detected Capture One this time. You can download the Photomatix Pro installer anytime from hdrsoft.com/photomatix-pro

The plugin for Capture One is included for free in Photomatix Pro, but ins't part of Photomatix Essentials for the time being.

I am so disappointed with this software. I bought it to use with capture one and I just cannot get a merge that looks realistic. Only the overbaked HDR look is possible with this software. :(

Photomatix definitely offers realistic results too, sometimes simply by using different presets/methods to adjust your images (the 'Natural' Preset for instance). But this can depend on the source images and your workflow as well so I would recommend checking our resources at the link below.
