In India, we'd add an egg and some curd/yoghurt. We add that in the morning about half an hour before applying. Also, adding a few drops of lemon juice can give a reddish tint. Additionally, henna moisturises the scalp. It reduces split ends by conditioning the strand. And should you be willing to go through the pain of mixing and applying it every month, then it will help cure damage and dryness. Henna on its own can be very drying. I have been using henna on my hair since I was 14. I am 38 this year.

Hi I have jet black hair,and I am a bit skeptical about the henna (nupur 100% henna 9 herbs) turning my hair brown? How can I make sure I keep my hair color ?
@saumya5520
@saumya5520 3 жыл бұрын
@@jarell51 Hi, jet black hair doesn't turn brown. It will just make your hair shinier and more visibly healthy. May be, with prolonged use, say 2 or more years, your greys might start looking brownish. That's all.

What I’ve learnt from my experience of hennaing my hair for the past few years- (Disclaimer: my opinions are my own and I am not suggesting by any means that you will experience the same aspects while going through the process) * any henna I use gives me a good tint only if I let the paste cure in a stainless steel utensil. I’ve read plastic is porous and will absorb a good amount of the dye and cast iron though comes highly recommended, doesn’t really do anything for me by toning down the tint. * adding moisturising agents such as honey and oils will only deter the henna from staining your hair. So if it’s color you’re mainly looking for, then your safest bet is to mix the henna with just plain room temperature water or add a dash of lemon juice. Yes your hair will feel coarse after you rinse out the henna but this can be undone by doing a deep conditioning treatment with your favourite store bought deep conditioner. If anything, your hair will only turn out silkier after this.

This was so very helpful!! I followed everything you did except I add hibiscus flowers to the tea to help give my hair more of reddish tint and for the added benefits. I also added aloe vera powder to the henna. This was my first deep henna treatment (the rest have been glosses) and I couldn't be more pleased! Thank you!!

Raven000 once henna dries it doesn't release any color so u have to keep it moist to get a darker shade .when I apply on my hands I try to keep it for as long as possible to get a dark burgundy color n to keep it moist u apply a mix of lemon juice n sugar (beaten tog)though can catch a cold so keep drinking hot water tea coffee n try applying in the day when the sun is out so less chance of getting a cold ..though u can also avoid that by keeping yourself warm .Hope that helps❣️

My question for you is; If you are located in Great Britain does it get extremely warm or a warmer than 70° during the summer and spring because most people that use coconut oil whose hair has no problem accepting it and the hair thrives, is because they live in warmer climates. However for those of us who live in cooler climates especially two seasons out of the year coconut has a tendency to get really crispy in the hair. Before instance; a lot of us who have really worked hard at attaining a certain length or look with our hair. Prefers to show their hair off. So that is to say using oils and henna if you have a certain hair type such as porosity density coarseness length even, depending on the hemisphere in which you live oils such as coconut can be a huge setback. You show that you've been using henna for a while what would you recommend just for a general statement for people with course shoulder length (in the back ) ( kinky bangs- high porosity ) curly(sides&back)-kinky(crown) dense low porosity hair that is protein sensitive? Should oil be added at all to the henna? Should we divide the hair and treat it differently. Should I just use a gloss, or decondition ? ( I'm sorry this is my husband's account I'm having trouble setting up my own KZbin account) Reaching out to you from Portland Oregon. 29 February 2021
