For a trinity motherboard, it's recommended to use a 3K-10K ohm resistor, but which is one is safer, extends the console's lifespan, ect.

Technically you need more than two wires one of those wires also needs a resistor. I did the RGH 3.0 on a phat and the other wire needed a diode as well but I don't think that's required on the slim units. But you also need to solder a bunch of wires to the board initially in order to use jrunner to dump and flash the nand forr the RGH wiring to work.

3AM.... Happy to report your guide worked. I commented months ago about how I was going to use this guide and it proved to be great. I did two of the slim Trinity 360s... 1st one was a dud... There is a bad write block and no matter what, the xbox would never boot up properly... Even though it says it reallocated the bad block, nothing ever comes up.... Oh well... Good practice. 2nd one works and boots. Thanks again. :)

@@MCDNetwork Ok... I rechecked underneath the board of the one that was not working.... And turns out a resister under the CPU where the xclamp is slid to a side... OOps... Carefully held it in place and touched each end of it with the solder iron, and now it boots!! Crazy thing is that now it freezes up if the xbox is upside down. (Of course I wouldn't run it like that.), but otherwise sitting on the side or right-side up, its going. Need to have it run a game to be sure it aint gonna freeze up. Read somewhere that you need to possibly change the resistor value to 4.7K and to shorten up the wire lengths.

I recently modded a 360 just to say I did one, and I was very disappointed with the homebrew available for this box. The homebrew applications are subpar compared to the OG Xbox. You would think there would have been more ports and other applications to take advantage of the higher processing power, but the OG Xbox is still far superior. The only benefit I see from modding a 360 is to play copied games. I know many people will want to do that, but I was more interested in the homebrew aspects, but it wasn't worth the trouble in my opinion. The OG Xbox is way easier to mod and has way more ports and homebrew applications available.

There are a decent amount of emulators on the Xbox 360 for other consoles and PC. There's also one for running dos on it and turning the console into a Windows PC. As with most things there are advantages and disadvantages, it just depends on what suits your needs best.

Trinity's are easier to work with when compared to a corona. Your best bet would be opening it up to be certain. However, checking the manufacturing date and voltage on the back sticker can get you in the ballpark. Trinity's were manufactured around june 2010 - August 2011, the input voltage is 12v and 10.83A.

It's not too difficult. You could either buy a tool specifically for it, or twist a flathead screwdriver in-between the loop at the end of the clamp and the post. if your new, I'd try buying a tool for it instead of the screwdriver method.

Yeah, they are quite tiny. The soldering station listed in the description was the one I used for the tutorial. It comes with a fine point tip you can attach to it, just get some quality solder. the stuff it comes with is lead free and is a pain to work with.

Just take your time and be sure nothing bridges, then you should be alright. if your really not confident, try using the techniques shown in the video on a scrap motherboard from an old electronic. Then you can practice without worrying about damaging your 360.

Could you help me out, I’m on to tinning the j2c headers. But on the j2c1 header one of the pads won’t get any solder on it. I have tried flux and cleaning and flux again but I cannot get any solder on it. It’s 3 pads down on the left of the j2c1 header.

You could try holding the soldering iron on there for a bit longer. Or introduce a lot of new solder just to loosen up the lead free Solder that's on there. Just be sure to remove the excess before attempting to solder the jumper

I just finished doing this mod on my slim console and had this exact same problem on this exact same pin. what I did to fix it is to put solder on the wire itself, hold the wire onto the pad, give it a fair amount of time, and it stuck.

And thankfully I know how to solder and work with electronic components so it should be easier Edit 1: I have looked at my options, and from what I can see I will buy a RPI Pico as it is the cheapest option. All I gotta do then is flash it with custom firmware and use it. Thank you once again!

The one used in the video is a Nand-X programer made by Team Xecuter. They are somewhat hard to find these days but a Jr programmer works just the same, there is a link in the description for where you can pick one up
