How To Model a Turbo Compressor/Impeller | Fusion 360 Tutorial

I was trying to do one of these by myself tonight and fell at the first hurdle. So I found your video and loved it and so will try to make one tomorrow. I love your quickfire, informal, shoot from the hip style and would definitely like to see more. Thing is I'm a Fusion boy at heart (can't afford anything else!) so more Fusion stuff if you please. You've certainly got my subscription but Fusion is all I can do I'm afraid.

Great tutorial man, but the end of the impeller blades has to go the opposing direction for the impeller to be functional, unless this is just a modeling tutorial, thank you so much again.

I use your site all the time. Great resource. 1) I am trying to create flexible hoses and can’t install the tube and pipe add-in. I use Inventor 2016 professional. How do I resolve this? 2) When I use the sweep command I can start the hose on a ring placed at the base of a hosetail, but can’t end the hose on a plane perpendicular to the other hosetail at the base. Could you produce a tip to draw hoses to link them to hosetails and other couplings? Many thanks for your help.

Have always enjoyed your content, your expertise, and your humor. I've never bother to learn Fusion as it doesn't seem to match my Inventor conditioned work flow. Also doesn't seem to have a lot of the features I've come to rely on from Inventor. iLogic and the parametric abilities. At least not that anyone has demonstrated. But at the same time, it took you less time in Fusion to create the same part..interesting. Cheers

I think an element of that is having just modelled it in Inventor, I wasn't thinking about what to do and just copied/repeated a load of things I'd already decided. Having done both, I'd say they're roughly the same time to complete if I wasn't talking and doing it.

Peanut the Parrot Dog!!! While I know that we really do not want to have Fusion360 become too much like Inventor for Fusion only users, it would be nice for those of us who use both platforms to be able to have an Inventor style Interface (easily enabled based on our Autodesk license) so we don't have to waste so much time hunting through the never ending (and way too small) pull downs. For me it would make using Fusion 360 on my Surface Pro in the field much easier since the Inventor interface is much more touch friendly. Isn't talking to yourself a part of CAD modeling? I was actually yelling at Inventor last night trying to get a 2 part hinge animation to work in Studio. There was the remnant of a constraint locking the part that took me 30 minutes to find. For some reason the constraint showed up in Relationships folder but not under the part itself. Just more of the fun of Inventor.

You know there is more to designing an impeller than just manually molding the blades into somewhat slanted shapes right? There is actually a very precise science behind it called aerodynamics. Not sure what good this tutorial is going to do anyone. Disappointed.
