Very nice video. Just a little note, by holding a spoon handle across the top of a glass (or bowl or pot), and pouring down the handle (the side away from the spoon), you can also get a neat pour. It's not foolproof, but often works in a pinch.

electronicsNmore yes thats good advice thank you. Ill also add that I’ve inherited a workshop full of wheels, grinders, sanders and misc. items from a person who repaired elegant glass. I am interested in taking on some of his projects that were piled up in his basement. His wife also fired ceramics as well so have her kiln as well. Like i said your video is 1 of many that I’m using to become familiar with repairs and such. Thanks again....ill keep watching👍👍👍

What if you had a glass rod and wanted to attach it to the side of the glass? Make a kind of pitcher handle for it, and then if you heated everything and then superheated the contact points, would they "bond"?

Has anyone tried this on a very thick glass? I have a large A&W mug that has cracks defining a chip that would be about dime sized, but it hasn't fallen off. I was wondering if I would be able to make those cracks melt into each other. But being very thick, it worries me. It's like trying to work repairs on the foot of that glass you have.

Cracks are different from chips, and they would probably tend to run further no matter what, but maybe if it was first filled with CA glue then heating it slowly; however, I wouldn't want the heated CA burning in my oven, so now we need a special experiment oven, man this is getting expensive... lol
