I also like putting a cork in the center above 3 trap ropes below main line. This keeps the trap ropes above crabs or when u pull in u throw crabs off trap

Hi. I understand that this is a 1 year old video, but do you have a link where to get that particular trap? Thanks

Thanks for this i came here from your other video - im new to crabbing and just got this set up planning on going out for my first time - what do you recommend as far as keeping crabs before I cook them? Cold water / ice? Should i cook right away or keep in the fridge for a day (and how to store?) - would love any advice thank you!!

Bring a cooler if possible if it’s a hot day. If not, a bucket is good but keep it in the shades. No water in the bucket or cooler. No ice as this will kill the crabs from the fresh water. Oxygen is limited in saltwater so the air is better. Recommend cooking it her same day. Not all will survive the next day and don’t eat the dead ones. Hope that helps. Good luck and hope you get some for a good experience.

@@KingKonAdventure thanks so much and one more question - how long do you usually leave traps like this down for?
@KingKonAdventure5 ай бұрын
@@elzucocampbell I would start with 3-5 minutes then increase if it is slow. It does fluctuate based on conditions. Remember when there are super strong currents, the nets won’t stay down. It will parachute and you won’t get crabs. You need slower currents.
