How to modify your dodge 47re/47rh/46re/46rh valve body for 2nd gear lockup! Cheap and a MUST DO mod

As of posting I don't have a video uploaded for installing a lockup switch, I will update the description once it's made :)
This is a simple modification to the valve body in your dodge transmission that allows for lockup in 2nd gear just like the 48re comes with. This is a must-do modification, it makes the stock automatics so much better to drive as lockup is when it actually feels like the truck has POWER! If you plan on running an aftermarket shifter with OD and Lockup on switches, then this is even more necessary!
I'll work on releasing videos covering driving with a lockup switch and what it's like, so much to do so little time aaaaaaahh!

I’ve gotta fix me 6.7 12v truck (blew the charge pipe off lol) and as soon as that’s working good I’ll get a bunch of clips of driving it with the MVB!

Thanks for showing the mod. You're videos are helpful. Not sure what the purpose of 2nd gear lockup is? Is this mod only for a transgo shift kit? I cannot do it to my stock valve body?

Glad you like the videos! 2nd gear lockup allows for the torque converter to be locked in second, the usefulness of this is if you’re low speed pulling a heavy load you can hit lockup and it will help pull down your rpm and stop excess converter slip. For going fast it allows for locked shifts which is rapid fire, and no converter slippage for the maximum power to get to the wheels The trans also runs cooler locked up as well And yup it can be done to stock valvebody!

To increase line pressure I thought it was counter clockwise rotation/threading out of valve body? Not further in? Isn't it? I'm not positive but going in would lessen line pressure I'd think. Appreciate u taking the time for the vid either way

Will this make it lockup by its self like overdrive? Or will I have to hit a switch? Hopefully this will allow me to manually move the shifter into 2nd gear and hit a switch for lock up as I am mostly using this for towing and don’t want it always locking up. Thanks Zachary.

Y’know… I’m not actually sure of that. It should be manual engagement only, I don’t think with 2nd the PCM will have a parameter that fits for commanding lockup and the low speed (it looks at TPS and output speed mainly). You will be able to put into manual 2nd and hit lockup on the switch though, it’s awesome for towing!
