Thanks Rudi, very useful! I would love that wing mount extension, but the flaps running the whole length of the Ventus wing are a problem :) I would love a 360 camera too, very tempting to get one. Maybe for next season! Cheers from a wintery New Zealand

Hi @Pure Glide , thank you for your comment! Yes i know, such a wing mount is only possible if the flaps are not running over the full wingspan. 360degree camera is just great, you will see you can do much more compared to standard cameras 😃 - best wishes to New Zealand 😃👍

Hi Tim - these 360s are simply perfect for tiny spaces like glider cockpits. 100 different perspectives in just one cam. The downside: Pretty much work in video editing afterwards. One have to reframe the Videos in the InstaStudio software for Mac/Win first, then take these clips into your video editing software (I use Davinci Resolve). Short "fun" clips for social media can be quickly done in the Insta smartphone aap.

You could spray paint your apparatus white rather than covering it with white tape.

Quite a good idea, thank you! I nevertheless need the tape to have a backup fixing of the mounts. But spraying them white would make it even better. Thank you for the input!

I’m looking to buy a glider, at the begging game of the journey. Looking at 13.5m as well as 15m gliders. Very difficult case ;) but fun too. Did you think about other alternatives to Silent 2?

I do not like 360 cameras. I do not like the to see the pilot too. So the last option is used by me. Problebly I will mount something outside (but not the wing) bout on the side of the canopy facing ahead

Hi Jan, make it so that nothing happens, fix it twice or there times. If you want to attach a camera outside, be aware that you take the full responsibility ...

I’ve heard that the FAA (USA) doesn’t take kindly to exterior minted cameras. Does anyone have any info on that is or is not allowed?

Hi Bill, good to know. For sure it is at least in a legal "grey zone" as we call it in german. I am fully aware, that if something happens, like a drop of the cameras from above, it can have serious consequences. Everybody who mounts cameras outside on the airframe should be 100% aware of it.

Hi, sorry it is custom made, so there is no shop where you could buy it.

@@LeNinjaHD to be correct, I didn't make it by myself. It was the manufacturer of the plane and I got it from them. I guess put a thin foil on the wing and put glassfibre and resin around it. Also laminate the stick to the front. When it is hard, remove everything and do the painting. At least in a similar way I made a exact-fitting holder for my ipaq about 20 years ago 😅

I've used my Xiaomi Mi Sphere 360 camera on it's selfie stick out the side vent to get the complete cockpit, pilot , Silent2E and surroundings. I like your wing mount. Is there any noticeable yaw from it? Would it be available for other Silent owners?

Hi Jim, I didn't know that Xiaomi is also producing 360 degree cameras? I have to do a research about that 😃. Yeah the thing with the Selfie Stick out of the window is great! I have also tried it already, but I did not include it here to keep the video short. Maybe I do an extra video about the possibilities with a 360 degree cam. Regarding the wing mount: it I really cool. No noticeable yaw from it. I don't know, if there is a possibility to get such again. I got it from Cremella some years ago
