awesome video! I'm no hunter, but I did come across a buck who died naturally in the woods, and suffice it to say, his skull is now in my possession. I've had it for a long while, and always wanted to mount it, but didn't want to hurt the skull because its absolutely beautiful and well preserved, even though I found it months after it's death. thank you for this demonstration!

Loved this approach! Spent a lot of time jig sawing and finishing the coast line of Sitkalidak Island plaque for a black tail shot last November there. Needed this input for the mount. Very much appreciated!

Thanks so much for sharing! I'm attempting to mount a bobcat skull to a plaque my friend made for me. I know the bone structure is different, but I imagine the premise is the same. I will continue to do more research before attempting to mount it.

Fantastic work you do on those plaques ! I'd order one now, but i don't wanna jinx myself.... and also I'd rather see what i'm gonna be mounting just in case i need to order a custom design and/or custom size...... I'm stoked for this years Illinois bow season, waiting on Oct 1st is driving me crazy.

Thanks for the video, we will try this soon with our skull. What screw diameter do you recommend to hold the weight? We are talking about much larger antlers in our case...
@manvsdeer2 жыл бұрын
I’ve always used a 3 inch deck screw and they have always held great, even on bigger white tails. If you were looking at an elk or something like that you might go bigger but I’ve never done that.
@MrYoudoober Жыл бұрын
How’d you get the skull so white ??
@manvsdeer Жыл бұрын
Wrapping the antlers and boiling in slightly diluted peroxide

How would you mount a skull to the wall without a plaque? Is there a way to hook it up so that you may move it easily?

They make a euro hanger called a “no show” European wall hanger I think that would be closest to what your after

Thanks for the video is this a strong enough mount to use on an outside garage?
@manvsdeer Жыл бұрын
Depends on how you attach the garage but the skull wouldn’t come loose from the wood if that’s what you mean
