How to Mount Dendrobium Orchid Keikis | moschatum Orchid Mount to Weathered Wood | Species Orchid

How are the keikies doing? I'm thinking of adding this species to my collection, growing it mounted.

I’ve had a difficult time with this one. The keikis were doing great and each one sprouted a new cane. All of a sudden within 2 days the leaves yellowed, died, and fell off. We had several days of rain and I think something bacterial rapidly set in. I let the mount dry. The canes are fine, but leafless. I’ll hang on with it through the spring and see what happens. For me, I’m having a hard time. Completely lost the mother plant toward the end of summer.

@@TheOrchidHut Thanks. Since our way and circumstances of growing our orchids are practically the same, I really might have to think 3 times before buying it, although the asking price for it isn't very high.

@@TheOrchidHut Thanks, I'm thinking about it. I'm offered an XL plant or young plants, 2 years from blooming. What do you think I should go for?

@TOEKIEWORLDMarc the full-sized plants are huge - canes 4 feet long (the size of the plant I lost!). I’d go for the smaller ones. Easier to handle and move around if you need to.
