Helpful video! You covered the inputs in this video...but not the outputs for playback (for virtual sound check). I wonder if you can give some more detail on that? Logic sets some default outputs that don't look right on the 'Mixer Screen'. My 'channel' in/out look right but the mixer board adds a bunch of outputs that may be screwing me up. Any thoughts?

In Logic, Highlight each channel. Click on to the output of the first channel. Hold Shift + Option and scroll past the stereo outputs, until you see mono. Click on Mono Out 1. This will assign the channels to individual outputs in sequential order. Now go on the SQ and assign the Inputs all to USB. This is the quickest way to route usb audio back in for a virtual sound check.

Still learning a lot on digital mixers, However i believe everyone has their own needs depending on what they use the mixer for. I'm a music composer and sound engineer for TV series mainly... i tend to have a lot of channel stripes beyond 32 channels. Am i limited with the specified number of channels or the digital mixer allows me to do work beyond 32 channels?

For the SQ, you’re limited to recording 32 channels if you’re recording over USB. If you use the Waves or Dante cards, you can record the SQ’s full capacity, which is 48 inputs.

Im using QU 24 and Logic Pro x. Im mixing a multitracks from my DAW, and I'm using the FX, Eq, compressor from QU24. How can I rerecord the mixing that I've been process at QU24 back to Logic X? Hope it make sense. Thank you

Under the IO section of you go to the usb tab you’ll be able to the main LR for two of your usb outs on top of your individual tracks.

I think I mishit the send button so I ask it again. I have a recording done with Reaper at 44.1Khz. I copied all the files to my Logic project and since I use ZoomR32 as DAW controller the audio sampling I set automatically at 44.1Khz. If I want to playback this recording on the SQ6, do I need to convert the project or the wav files to 48Khz at which the SQ is set and with the SQ6 set as audio device ?

Yes, you’ll need to convert the files. The SQs run internally at 96K, but can work with 96K or 48K over usb. If you run the usb port at 48K, the board is still internally running 96K.

What if i want use it as virtual soundcheck? I already done multitrack with QU16, but then i press play nothing sound from FOH. Any setup i missing?

Are you playing back from a computer or a usb stick plugged into the board? If from a computer, you’ll have to setup the SQ to run daw playback over midi. In either case, you’ll have to change the inputs to usb to perform the VSC. There’s currently no button to do a VSC or quickly change all the inputs for SQ.

Hello, I need help. Im already multitrack recording, but I want to send it back to the board and use an Aux out and send to audio interface to send to stream in Wirecast. I can't seem to get it to work. can you help or anyone??

You’ll need to set the output of your DAW to 2 of the USB channels going back to the SQ. Your DAW will see these as “physical outputs” rather than something like an AUX. For example, set them to physical outputs 31-32. On your SQ, set up a stereo channel for inputs 31-32. Now you can mix and route this as needed. If you’re trying to get individual tracks, you can set the Logic outputs as I show starting at 3:05 in this video, then set the SQ inputs to the individual USB inputs.

Yes, but make sure you select the USB output to the USB port and not the Qudrive. Qudrive is for recording onto a thumb drive.

Hey. I have a very important question. Ive been geetting crazy with this problem. The thing is i am trying to record my piano in stereo and it is assigned by the console default (ST1 - 41-42) And i can not see that channel in logic pro because of the 32 channel recording limitation. My question is can i route teh channels of ST1 to 31-32? Because im not using the 32 channels to record. Please i hope you can help me with this issue. Thank you in advance

Yes, you can definitely do this and keep your piano plugged in to 41/42. Go to the I/O Patch screen. Select Output > IP Direct Outputs and then select USB. Scroll down until you see the channel for your piano. Here you can patch the Piano out to any of the USB outputs that you’re not using. Make sure to hit the patch button so you can edit this screen.

I have a buffer problem

Any buffer issues will be coming from your DAW. Make sure to set your Buffer rate in your DAW as low as it can go when tracking or working live without running into problems. If you’re not already, I recommend routing all channels that you’re working with on the mixer to and from your DAW. Even if you’re not using them inside the DAW. This will allow your DAW’s delay compensation to keep all the channels in sync. The SQ mixers have an internal latency that’s under a millisecond. This is fixed as well.
