@@snookion I will re-iterate this. You can spend your money however you want, but if you're spending it on TCG Pocket, its the same as flushing it down the toilet. There is no value in owning a digital copy of these cards, ever. You probably have about a month or two before the value of an account is near zero. The game itself is also just a simpler version of an already existing version of the tcg. It is designed to bait "whales" into wasting their money, do not be one of the ppl that got baited.

I respect everyone's opinions. I wanted to give my viewpoint on pokemon pocket tcg. I'm a 29 year old dad. I played and collected pokemon cards when I was 8. Then I fell out of it for other hobbies. Then I regained the urge in high school since my friends were also playing tcg at school and leagues and such. Then after high school life happens and I moved on again. I have always been a gamer. One of my favorite games in the last 5 years has been hearthstone. I love how I keep my collection in my pocket and I don't have to lug around a binder. It's super fun and competitive. It's easy to whip out the game on a break at work or in a waiting room ect. I recently found the love for collecting tcg in physical form came back around the release of 151 a year ago or whatnot. Long story short, I havnt played hearthstone since the release of pokemon pocket tcg the last couple weeks. Idk if I'm smooth brained but the card playing aspect is fun and competitive even though it is a watered down simplified version of the real card game. I do wish they could have combined this with their original tcg live game or what not. It would be insane if you could scan the code card from a real pack into pokemon tcg pocket and open a 2nd free virtual pack. They could have made it more true to the tcg irl. I definitely think it could compete with blizzard and hearthstone. I don't view pokemon tcg pocket as an investment or whatnot that you all are playing it out to be. You said in the video "just Google a picture of a card and that's the same thing". Sounds alot like your comparing tcg pocket to nft or such. I view it as a game on the same level as hearthstone. I know it's not an investment. I spend $10 because I really need that one trainer card that I havnt pulled. It is fun to have the collection and having to actually pull the cards because that's what makes tcg irl fun. Everyone loves ripping packs. I definitely don't plan to spend more than $10 every so often, but it isn't an investment. It's an entertainment like buying loot boxes in overwatch or a battle pass for some ftp game. I just felt like that whole aspect of it being a game wasn't even mentioned and I wanted to voice my views on it. I love the content and I didn't want to turn away because of 1 viewpoint. I still collect tcg irl and it's all good if your not into the game aspect. Ps. They are adding trading which is neat too

You nailed it with the "should have been incorporated into PTCGL" part. Even if they wanted to make the watered down gameplay an option on there. Trading should have never been stripped away from the actual game client and it seems like it only was to get people spending on Pocket. Makes you think they made a terrible game in order to push something that is a cash grab/cow.

I’m new to the whole pokemon tcg, I was playing yugioh on the phone before switching over to pokemon and I, like many others, grew up watching ash catch em all. I have purchased a bunch of 151 booster boxes and an etb to open for nostalgias sake. I don’t plan on selling any of it ever, it’s purely for my enjoyment. I love the cards I’ve pulled so far and I have 2 more booster boxes on the way. I do want to complete the 151 set eventually and any other cards I get from other sets are gonna be to build battle decks to play with my wife 😌

I have half of the chase cards on Pocket and I haven't even spent a cent on there. You get free packs every 12 hours, and the more you battle the more you can open. You don't have to spend any money to have fun with it.

13:08 I preordered the prismatic evolutions ETB for myself because I wanted that Eevee promo. I passed on the surprise box because stamped cards don’t excite me. If I remember correctly, the ETB originally had a limit of 4 but was quickly changed to 2. It sold out in less than a day, I only knew about it in time because pokemon center emailed me about it. I have the worst pack luck in the world, so I mostly buy singles.

Pocket has a cap on how much you can spend in a day. Which is why the total was so low for 4 days. I wouldn't be surprised if it would have been a ton more without that cap.

Buying digital cards is like putting money into collecting proxies. People will say don't "yuck someone else's yum," but this is a gambling FOMO driven app made by a billion dollar company. If someone you know is addicted to spending all their potential lifesavings in a casino, you'd try to stop them, correct? Then why would that not be the case for this? I started opening packs for fun with my kids; it's the only way to collect, in my opinion; otherwise, it's just scalping or investing.
