Definitely one of my favourite tricks, it looks sick and feels even better. It's totally true that the key to this trick is popping in that toe side pocket, great tutorial dude!

Adjusting my frontside halfcab flips for this tip.
@averageuser51964 жыл бұрын
@@BrendanBFree do it dude! I use the toe side pocket for regular, fakie and switch FS flips, and of course for Nollie BS flips. The counterweight keeps you stable and the pop on the toe side pocket drives the board into your flicking foot. When I started modifying my positioning to use the toe side pocket I found I could completely rotate 180 degrees, opposed to when I used the heel side pocket and could barely rotate 90. This tip rocks man so good luck with it. I find the toe side pocket works well for hardlfips also.

@@averageuser5196 i used to position on the toe side pocket for my frontside flips, everyone else used the heel, but i cant pop the board that way. I stopped doing them until I saw a Tom Penny frontside flip recently and now im back at the toeside popping frontside flips.
@averageuser51964 жыл бұрын
@@BrendanBFree true that man! It's all preference obviously and finding what works for you. The toe side is what works for me but it did take me a while to figure that out! I pop kickflips pretty similar to FS flips. I use my big toe to pop on the toe side edge of the board (so the board comes up to my front foot) and the ball of my foot snaps directly in the middle of the tail for a solid pop. This is similar to how I FS flip, except I pop more with my toe in that pocket to really drive that board into my flicking foot. That back foot position, with your front foot in a kickflip whilst your chest and shoulders are open and already turned 90 degrees is the trick. Other than that make sure your front foot flicks out FS ready to become your backfoot.

Sooooo stylish! WOW! Your Flips look mindblowing! I really like the trick especially over the corner. But in flat i only could do them inside between the legs. Also in the bank i do them inside which is much easier. The secret with the front foot in the pocket was also my way to success.

Skateboarding is weird sometimes. I've tried this trick today and keeping the flicking foot stright helps me alot to keep me in balance before the pop. Fakie though it's an easy trick for me and I prefer to keep that foot with an angle.

Do you pop on the outside pocket for switch fs flips too? Kinda confusing because I use, and see a lot of people use the inside pocket for reg/fakie fs flips
@SKATEHACKS4 жыл бұрын
It can be done both ways. For switch I use the tip of the tail, no pocket. My vids are my preferences, not always necessity. I just try to explain why I like my methods. I find it easier to use the outside pocket for nollie

Hey you're nollie bs flips look kind of like mine. I was really insecure about it because mine flip almost like a hardflip where I see others the flip is very much horizontal. I prefer the hardflip way better anyways lol
Would be nice with some clips that aren't slomo aswell

I think this is front side… isn’t it? It looks like a frontside flip to me… Isn’t it named relative to your stance and not necessarily whether or not your front or back faces the direction you are traveling halfway through the turn? That’s why a half cab is a fakie backside 180, even though your front is facing the direction you are traveling halfway through the turn, it is still considered a backside turn. Same with nollie, nollie half cab is a nollie backside 180. Am I wrong?
