defrences it takes some getting used to. Our brains are so caught up in the flick we get ahead of it. Ollie first n flick off. Tell yourself again n again. Learned it from Neen Williams. Best heelflipper in the world. Sit in the back sit little bit make sure the back foot is in the pocket so you don’t keep kicking them behind you. Have the backfoot in the pocket staggers the feet ever so slightly to even it out in the air

Right on time :) I have started practicing regular and switch heels yesterdays and this video us a good synchronicity :) I don't know why, but i pop more easily while being on switch. My switch heel flips are literally the same as yours. I dont feel comfortable doing regular and fakie too. Great tutorial. I actually setup my front foot more like an ollie with the toe hanging off a little and back a tad bit. Keep up the great content!
@joshuadansby28744 жыл бұрын
Switch heels seem easier for most people to do because standing in switch position your shoulders are naturally parallel to the board (head almost looking backwards - that's why switch is referred to doing backwards similar to fakie position) which is the proper way to do them even in regular stance too. Problem people face with regular is they have their chest forward open like a frontside flip which is incorrect the shoulders must be parallel to the board, flicking foot in ollie position with toes slightly hanging off the board & face looking almost backwards. Regular stance looking backwards feels uncomfortable & scary because it is harder to see where you're going & we are use to looking forward shoulders open on regular stance tricks. Once you get use to this backwards feeling you will find out heelflips in regular stance are not hard at all & then you will be able to start turning you head forward towards your flicking foot & still have your shoulders locked parallel to the board.

I can land switch heels but the problem is I just can't pop them enough. I can switch ollie okay but with switch heels, my flicking foot just can't wait for the board to pop and just automatically flicks the board early. I mean yes it does flip but I hate my switch heels. I wish I'd be able to pop it higher.

Jesus christ these are beautiful.. I'm really struggling with the motion of my front heel. I notice that my switch forward foot wants to stay in that rolled-in position and doesnt actually flick to point the sole away from me.. I cant seem to shake it. It essentially ends up preventing the board from flipping because it almost wants to do the beginnings of a front foot impossible if that makes sense. Was there anything you focused on when actually kicking that allowed your foot to not only slide off the board at the right top pocket angle, but also point the heel correctly at whatever frame of reference you set? What I mean by this is, sometimes with my switch kickflips, if I envision myself doing a stereotypical ninja jump kick as the final ending position, shooting for pointing the foot above the knee level, it seems to help considerably. My switch flips are high and leveled out when I do this. Is there any frame of reference or thing you think of that allows you to point your heel in the correct ending angle? Do you aim for a heel kick initially? Do you focus on the sole pointing away? Thank you for all the videos man, they are fantastic. I look up to you a lot.
@SKATEHACKS4 жыл бұрын
It sounds like you need to retrain that front foot to kick out properly. Practice that motion off the board hundreds of times and start applying it to the switch heels. At this point, it’s just practice and eliminating bad habits. If the ninja kick stance works for you, use it.
@teriyakov4 жыл бұрын
I don't get this every time but for me, I really exaggerate dragging my front foot up the board and then off to the side. This was a deal breaker in finally getting a switch heel for me. Really concentrating on how my flicking foot was in contact with the board all the way through the trick seemed to make all the difference. Hope that helps 👊😎
@eneaantonicelli35354 жыл бұрын
@@teriyakov awesome man thank you for the tip! Is your foot stiff in a heel pointing away from you sort of way or is it loose to the point that the board's grip tape dictates the flick?
@teriyakov4 жыл бұрын
@@eneaantonicelli3535 I keep it loose but that took a while to do. I started off feeling like my whole foot was a stiff stump with no dexterity but then focusing on dragging my foot up and out made me pretend my foot was almost dangling off my leg. Like if you were using a fine paint brush to draw a swoosh. You hand and handle of the brush do the motion but the brush tip rolls with the paper. Pretend you foot is the brush tip, and keep it loose when you drag your foot up and off the board. Hope that makes sense.
