I really enjoyed and for sure helped me a lot. Thank you Fia for this great knowledge/experience sharing and for the way you did it, always linking our human bodies action back in neuroscience. It makes so understandable. Congrats and thanks.

So happy to hear this helped you, Saulo! Linking back to neuroscience and adult learning theory is the Moxie guarantee--our methods work for a reason, and we can prove it. Thank you for your kind words!

For me fear is an overwhelming sense of hopelessness and a desire to no longer exist.

That's makes sense and happens to others. As Fia mentioned in the video, fear reduces cognitive ability making us think irrationally. It can be very overwhelming and can feel like our mind is betraying us. As the saying goes: "The mind is a wonderful servant but a terrible master." If we consciously take steps to overcome our fear and build new habits, over time we will teach our brain to handle fear in more healthy ways and not default to despair and existentialism. The very fact you're watching these videos shows you're on the right path and doing the right thing!

That is common for many people! While sometimes the overwhelming sense of fear can come from specific, obvious sources, other times it can be a build up of many things all at once. Deep breathing helps reduce the physical symptoms of fear which in turn helps you psychologically relax too. Before working out the why behind your fears, start with deep breathing to help alleviate the feelings associated with it. In time, in more relaxed states, you may start to untangle the different knots of fear you hold onto bit by bit. Be patient with the process and curious about understanding yourself. It is something that can and will get better over time if you keep at it!

David Swanson I don't like when people are costumes and they run up to me and scare me

David, the next time you feel costumed horrors will be working to spook you, set yourself the challenge of nonstop, conscious, deep breathing before and during the experience. You'll likely still feel fear but it's impact will be diminished.
