@arturkarpinski1643 жыл бұрын
When I woke up this morning before I even got out of bed I was 100% sure that I will be going to the liquor store real quick. I recently lost my job and have been on an emotional roller coaster with anxiety off the charts. The thing is I would most likely go on a several day binge!!! I sat down to gather myself and watch some KZbin for a moment. KZbin recommended this video, I am a subscriber. I didn't think I had it in me to watch a 20+ minute video because I was in a hurry to get there and escape my reality but I gave it a chance at least for a moment. As I watched this video I realized that we were not just in the same book but we were on the same page. You understood me and what I was going through. What hit me on a very personal level was when you were talking about number of days sober and you mentioned 699 days, it was as if I was meant to watch this video because 699 is my home address and you were talking directly to me. I watched the entire video and left a short comment. I have to honestly say that this video was the feather that tipped the scale and instead of going to the poison store I went to my parent's house. They were glad to see me and I ate a delicious home cooked meal there. Later when I went home I organized some paper work and went on a long walk which did me good. When I came back home my buddy who recently moved out of state called me, we talked for over an hour. The conversation was positive for me because he has some job connections for me nearby. I believe that you planted a positive energy seed in my mind that strengthen me and helped me get through my day. I DON'T mean to sound cute but I honestly believe that you Tim were my Guardian Angel on this day!!!! Before the day was done I shared this video with my parents. They are very old, my parents were little kids during World War 2 in Poland, they both send you their love and blessings!!! You really helped me today because I have been drinking myself close to death lately. I sincerely thank you and I appreciate what you do. I will continue watching your videos. Be safe and God Bless you!!!!!❤❤❤

I had to come back here and add that alcohol is sugar and they both work on your nucleus accumbens part of your brain which releases a pleasure feeling. In my experience eating a small amount of sugar and fat, let's say a tablespoon of honey and peanut butter, can stave off cravings of wanting alcohol. An added benefit is the fat and sugar make me feel a little bit sleepy after a few minutes which also gives me the slightly sedative feeling of alcohol. I usually have a few walnuts too. This is great for after work when I want something "healthy" to unwind.

I’m 30 and I have been binge drinking since I was 18. I’ve had a year or so sober. Being pregnant helped definitely because I wouldn’t drink at all and I’m a mom of 3. I am starting to have stomach pains every time after I drink now. I will drink one weekend with friends and the next morning wake up with sharp abdomen pains. I’ve had a CT and they don’t see anything wrong. Liver is good, hearts good, pancreas is good stomach and intestines are good. So I don’t know why I have these sharp stomach pains. I did good and didn’t drink for a month and then I went to a painting party and had wine and a few beers. Woke up with stomach pain. I have to do it for my health. Why they don’t know why I’m having pain I know it only happens after I drink. So that’s why I’m here. It’s for my health! I can go a couple months and then binge a weekend and not drink for a while again. I’m thinking about not being around others who are drinking or brining NA beer so I don’t get tempted.

I agree it all bottoms down to handling those temptation moments of truth each day. Binary, no. I still can't seem to make it past a month several times now, one thing is clear - the temptations need better handling. If it's an event that is focused on drinking - why even go, their reaction to your respectful decision is their responsibility. Is it the end of the world? No. But is life ending sooner with a drinking problem? Yes. Not maybe, yes. Get drunk on sober benefits.

My family met at my moms for pizza and family time which I love. My brother left and went to his AA meeting while my sisters family ate and had their fill of Bud Lights while I sipped on my Pepsi, all the time thinking a beer would sure taste good. Once my belly was full and I was satisfied all cravings were gone. I left and came home happy and sober Thanking the Lord knowing I will get a good night sleep and wake up in the morning refreshed.

Tim have you ever noticed how the word ‘drink’ has been co-opted by the alcohol industry when you go out to a bar people say oh don’t you drink and you’re standing there with a glass of water in your hand and say ‘of course I drink what do you think this is? ‘ And they said ‘ no you know what I mean’ so even intelligent people don’t realise they have been hypnotised and conditioned please repost this interview and qualify using the phrase we’re going to help you to stop ‘drinking alcohol’ rather than stop drinking once people are specific in their language they will realise what they’re actually doing as a result of the hypnosis and they will be able to break free part of the difficulty comes from the fact that subconsciously we have to drink to stay alive So by co-opting the word ‘drink’ the alcohol industry can link our subconscious desire to stay alive with the desire for alcohol. People don’t realise the power of words. the reason we use the word to ‘spell’ when creating a word is because we are creating a spellOr better still casting a spell

Tim I have some good advice every week say you drink $30 a day in alcohol when you stop drinking alcohol for a year save that $30 every week for a year you will see how much money you have save it separately from your regular account you will be happy 😄😄😄

I'm using this to relate to my addiction to nicotine in rillo papers with cannabis rolled up inside. Been trying to quit tobacco my whole life. When my daughter quit, I quit to support her. I slipped off the quitting because I needed to quit for myself. I am back to quitting, but I struggle every day. Even after years of quitting. I read how happy most people who have quit are and how they will never go back. Mine is more of a constant struggle. One thing that helped me was one of your blogs on being single and appreciating freedom of having more control of my life. When I look back (which one is not supposed to do) I see what relationships did to my life. So, thank you Tim for your continued support and clear thinking!

Drinking for me became a problem for me after one of my close friends passed away. Even before that though, I used alcohol to ease my anxiety in general. I really think that any addiction is a by product of being a person who is dealing with sub optimal conditions and just needs love and encouragement.

This is the best video I have heard on this topic and it’s something I knew deep down but really never heard it out loud which helps big time. This is one of those videos you can always rewatch for clarity.

Alcoholic, major depression disorder. I think it’s because I’m tired of struggling and being responsible for others. No job satisfaction. No motivation. Too much energy to even shower

I've never been addicted to alcohol, nor tobacco, but I used to drink between 4 to 6 Coca Cola's per day. My way to reduce that to 1 Coca Cola per day was to chug a larger cup of water when I had the urge, so I was too full to drink anymore.
