I relate to this so much! I've noticed this for myself as well as an introvert. I would be very reluctant to hangout with people in my highschool years because of how comfortable I was staying alone. But when I started my uni, I started talking to people more and hanging out them, especially with people who have similar interest as mine and I actually liked it. That just made me realize how much I missed because there are people out there you could genuinely connect to. But it's never too late!

Something to add. I had made some good contacts with professors and other student that led to jobs after college but eventually they dried up. I moved. They moved and I lost touch and I didnt maintain them. So I would add dont forget to maintain your connections even after schooling. Introverts and INTJs I think can let the lack of "contact maintenance" part negatively affect them down the road yrs after college. You need good professional contacts thru your entire life. -INTJ

I was just thinking about this the other day. This video is quite timely!

I’ve been down this road before and you’re correct - developing these connections opens up many more opportunities, and it doesn’t need to be excessive. Just a handful of targeted avenues for putting yourself out there will yield returns, in my experience. Great to see a new video Chris. Glad things are looking up!

I'm a 65% extroverted ENTP with a high intuition percentage of 90% and being the only child with both parents missing most of time at work I used to feel so damn alone that I needed to be around people almost all of the time. Now being a grown up I realize that I actually do need to be alone to process thoughts and re-energize but going out and socializing once or twice the week is essential since it offers the opportunity to exchange idea's with people, learn about the world and even connect with quality like minded people. I would say to all introverts that a fair amount of alone time and also time to meet people and interact with them helps evolute personally too and also indulge to new activities and increase your knowledge as well. We are after all social creatures and I believe that keeping thing's balanced in life as much as possible is actually healthy and helps us progress as individuals

You make a really important point re going out & the exchanging of ideas for introverts. I'm a divergent TiNi subtype ENFJ in CPT & in terms of my synergistic/holistic development has really suffered as a consequence of shutting myself off from people. The key is to find like minded individuals; quality over quantity however cliche that sounds - although I do admit that I enjoy talking to random people

Worth noting I'm a divergent ENFJ in CPT so a NiTi convergent subtype who is socially quite introverted so I highly related to this on a lot of levels. The irony being with my FeSe convergent pairing no one would think that I'm an introvert in real time (the big 5 not Jungian definition of I & E) but I do become exhausted by interaction easily. I'm also a psychology grad student & my whole MSc is online distance learning (luckily I'm working full time already so I'll have references to hand) but to propel me into the world of academia I really need to put myself out there more. I think I had a level of naivety whereby my intellect would compensate for any shortcomings I had. Whilst imposter syndrome isn't something contingent upon being an introvert I do find I greatly struggle with this despite objectively having an extremely high IQ; I could even have my PhD & still be like 'what the f*ck am I doing here?' 😅. I wander to what extent social anxiety has pushed me more into my divergent introverted TiNi pairing & other epigenetic factors of course.

So in a way, you are kinda saying to try to be a little bit of an extroverted introvert, I myself naturally am. However, my recharge time seems to be when I miss the most crucial things to my life and success. I guess I need to use it more around the more beneficial times then recharge. And glad to see you back, it has been a while, but I understand that you were very busy and you had to keep up with your life.
