One thing I should have mentioned in the video! Always use a tissue when holding the internal components to avoid any contamination getting on the parts from your fingers - it's that sensitive!
@SergiyJust3 жыл бұрын
@Haste You have just to pull it in opposite directions slowly & carefully - in one hand one shell half & in the other rotor internal part. Could be tough but it'll go apart. PS ! Do it over flat soft surface in case they would detach quickly.

Thanks a lot for the video, Rory. Using your technique, I was able to instantly open the powerball and clean it. While reassembling I used a toothpick to put a tiny amount of silicone around the white rotor support ring, attempting to make it smoother and more quite. It was smooth indeed but I couldn''t speed it up again. Your comment to Chris made me understand that friction is required to allow usage of the powerball. I opened again and cleaned all traces of silicone. Now the powerball is back again to it's old self. Thanks for your support. I had tried a few other powerballs but NSD powerball are way better than any I had used!

Greetings Michael, many thanks for your message - isn't it funny the way just a tiny little bit of lubrication kills the rotor spin friction dead? I mean, it'll just wallow around in that shell like a dead duck after the application of just a tiny drop of oil or grease :-) Glad to hear you remedied it though, thanks again for sharing. With my best wishes, Rory

MANY THANKS - LOL my forearms are thanking me for the exercise :D

If you are having trouble opening the case with your palm after removing the scews, here is a tip: Put the power ball on solid ground (I used the floor). Now take a big book like an atlas, place it on top of the powerball and push down. I suppose doing this spreads the weight out. With this method I was able to instantly open it and it also didn't hurt my wrist.
@rpmpower5 жыл бұрын
Greetings and thanks for your comment, yes indeed, a book (or flat piece of wood) is a good other alternative to the palm of the hand - just make sure that the axle tip is not pointing upwards though as it'll potentially warp the axle if you press down hard right onto the tip with all that weight! Best wishes, Rory

Good stuff! Try clean it every couple of months and you'll keep it smooth and quiet - also, make sure to always grip it tightly any time the rotor is spinning, that'll help keep it even smoother, best wishes, Rory

Greetings. Did you happen to touch any of the internal rings? Contamination from the natural oils produced by the skin will hamper the frictional relationship between the various internal components and will require that they be cleaned with isopropyol alcohol in the event you've done so. Alternatively, it could also be that a little piece of the hard plastic tip from the cord may have become dislodged and is not residing inside the ball somewhere?

Thanks for the help, I got a cord somehow wrapped around the axle!
@rpmpower3 жыл бұрын
You're very welcome, that can happen if you don't pull it straight out and down (or straight up as the case may be) - if you pull at any sort of an angle then the cord tip can remain stuck in the rotor's hole and wrap around the axle...always pull straight and you'll be fine ! Best wishes, Rory

I would like to learn of how to open my Powerball Diablo Evo. The rotor of mine has difficulty to rotate on its Y axis as it has lot of friction. I have lot of difficulty to start it.

My Powerball has 3 screws. The technique you show here didn't work. I've pushed down using my entire body weight but it won't open. And yes, the axel tip is away from the points where the ball is being compressed.Is there a different technique for opening these powerballs?
@rpmpower6 жыл бұрын
LadyT, I am sorry to hear this. Unfortunately, it seems that you have a 280hz Powerball model (or other type...the 3 screws give the game away I guess) and not the 250Hz model we're referring to here. Please have a quick look at a basic little video we've put together for you that shows how to open a 280Hz ball, hope it can help. bit.ly/2tFv6AF

2 months of rehab and three weeks of powerball left my wrists feeling almost as good as new...until I tried to use this technique to open my 280hz autostart Powerball. Not only did it not work, but my wrists are back to square one. You have 3 screws and 6 clips holding the ball together. Why not just add screws and leave out the wrist damaging stuff?

Hello! I decided to open my powerball to clean it and after I assembled it back together... well it doesn't work the same. What can be the problem?
@rpmpower5 жыл бұрын
Hi Chris, hard to say, how did you clean it? We recommend two wipe downs with pure rubbing alcohol (isopropyl alcohol) - once to remove any possible contaminant and a second time just for a belt and braces approach as hand oil sometimes won't come off in one run) - unless you forgot to put back on the washers perhaps? Albeit that won't really do it either, let me know what you did Chris, perhaps I'll be able to assist. Best wishes, Rory
@Chris-Ian5 жыл бұрын
@@rpmpower I cleaned only the chassis, with a soft cotton cloth, nothing more. The problem is, I don't know if it is a problem though, but the rotor rotates easily inside the chassis; before I cleaned it it used to spin Only around itself before reaching a certain speed, and then started to rotate inside the chassis. Now I can rotate it easily, which i wasn't able to do before that.
@rpmpower5 жыл бұрын
@@Chris-Ian Hi Chris, it's possible that something on that cloth has left a fine residue that has affected the vital frictional relationship between the white rotor support ring and the shell platform on which it sits...that friction, as you now know, is important to help the rotor "bite" the shell properly and allow you build up speed...if that friction has been disrupted in some way then all the perfect wrist rotation in the world won't help...you need to open it back up again and wipe down those surfaces with some alcohol to ensure that there's nothing on there (some cotton cloths will have an artificial compound of some sort in the fabric (don't ask me what it is!) that makes them extra soft (I see this with some "dry" cotton cloth that I wipe the inside of my car window with and suddenly there's something on the glass that shouldn't be there!)...maybe this has managed to contaminate the inside of your ball someway? Isopropyl alcohol is your man for this! Best wishes, Rory

@rpmpower4 жыл бұрын
Hi Lainey, our 280Hz models are slightly different to open (a coin or flat blade screw driver is used to open those) but all 250Hz models employ this 'snap lock' system to ensure the shell halves lock together firmly. Thanks, Rory

Hi, I have a 250 model, without the counter. I just can't open it. I removed the screws, and both myself and my BF (who is a large, strong person) tried opening. I carefully positioned the axel to be away from the screws, when I push literally nothing happens but when he puts his weight on it, you can hear the sounds of crackling plastics, but it still doesn't open - or show any signs of it. It seems like it's glued? Is it possible? Is the sleeve somehow different?
