Had one of those 20 years ago. I found it immensely helpful to pretend or imagine I was circling a long heavy rod (or light beam) that came out of the ball and say make a circle with a diameter of one meter at the imagined end of the rod in a distance of a few meters. Sounds way more complicated than it is, but helped me to get the exact movement needed.

Thanks so much for the video. I bought a string starting powerball online and struggling to make it work. This was helpful ... I get it ... don't move the arm and move slowly until you are snyched with the rotor. I'm not good at it yet but this kept me going and kept me from tossing it out .... being one that hates failing at any endeavor this is tricky because speed and brute force are not the answer ... it's counter intuitive for someone like. me.

How exactly does moving your wrist make the ball go faster? Is it the resistance you want or do you want the ball to glide to make it go faster?
@rpmpower Жыл бұрын
Hi Sean, when you set a body in motion, it tends to want to stay traveling in that direction until its energy is exhausted. If you apply a force on the body to try alter the direction of its travel, then that force will experience a resistance which will be proportional to the speed of the body. When you set Powerball's rotor into motion (spin it on it's 'x' axis) and then begin to rotate the wrist, you'll be effectively forcing the rotor to change direction on it's 'Y' axis This in turn causes it to spin faster on its 'x' axis, which in turn will require more force to get it to alter its 'Y' axis direction. That additional force will be experienced as a growing resistance felt in the 4 main forearm muscles (the muscles which give mobility to the wrist). The key to Powerball, therefore, is a strong wrist (those 4 main forearm muscles...pronator, supinator, extensor, flexor), which has an ability to increase that 'Y' axis speed - it becomes a never ending game of cat and mouse, so to speak, that you can never win; the faster you drive that 'X' axis speed, the more wrist / forearm strength required to sustain it and on and on it goes till you hit your ceiling - just over 17,000rpm being the current world record (achieved just once out of millions of Powerballs sold worldwide over 25 years...no mean feat that!) Hope this helps. BR Rory

Greetings Solomon, sorry for my delayed reply. Our products are available on Powerballs.com but if you'd like to place a bulk order for example, make sure to email me directly (rory@ the website listed above and I'll get you some preferential pricing), thanks so much, Rory

@rpmpower6 жыл бұрын
Greetings José, thanks for your comment, the quietest Powerball (ever made to date) is Titan Autostart (or Diablo Autostart)...both are so smooth and quiet that you cannot really hear anything up to 9000rpm - 10,000rpm (which is a high speed to spin at when you have such a heavy metal rotor inside), if you enjoyed your Ironpower then these new metal Powerballs will really impress you, thanks again, Rory

Unfortunately with paper instruction guides, it's akin to trying to teach someone how to ride a bicycle by reading a piece of paper...a tough ask...the videos do help, and I'm glad this one has helped you there...but even the videos won't always work, you've got to 'feel your inner rotor' as we like to say, and then you'll be good to go! Best wishes, Rory

This is hard to do (with the strings) Especially for old people. Get the autostart. It’s easier EDIT: Get the autostart. I just got mine and it started on second try. for most older uncoordianred people, the autostart is your choic
@rpmpower3 жыл бұрын
I'd have to disagree Theresa, it's purely a matter of co-ordination - it takes almost no force or power to keep the ball spinning at low speeds, you just need to be able to co-ordinate your wrist movement to match that of the spinning rotor, like you would if riding a bicycle or using a hula hoop, young or old, the capability is within us all.
@theresachung7033 жыл бұрын
@@rpmpower You’re right! But I needed the autostart. The string never did it for me. But now I love it and it is a small wonder.

I think mine is faulty!..
@rpmpower5 жыл бұрын
Hi Jake, while the products are precise in their build, the internals are rather simple and as such they rarely give trouble. Our experience shows that the only three causes of 99.9% of Powerball "faults" are: 1) Use technique - not getting in sync with the spinning rotor and it dies after 15-20 seconds 2) Something has managed to get inside (fluff, hair etc) - this interferes with the frictional harmony inside and makes it almost impossible to spin...it has no 'bite' and slips around inside despite best efforts to make it 'catch' 3) The user has attempted to start it while having some form of oil/hand lotion or muscle balm on their hands which in turn has managed to find its way onto the rotor support band and disturbed the frictional relationship inside. For option 1 above, please watch this video, it explains the technique in detail. For options 2 and 3, please watch this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/o5vUgYuOjc2WlZY And follow the instructions shown there. If you've managed to get cream/lotion/oil onto the internals, please get some rubbing alcohol (pure alcohol) and clean the rotor support band and internal support rings TWICE with the alcohol...it'll remove any contaminant and restore that frictional relationship again. Hope this helps, best wishes, Rory

I just cant get it to work at all it spins and then just slows down and stops no matter how slow or fast i try, ready to throw it at the wall haha
@rpmpower9 ай бұрын
We recommend you don't throw it at the wall ☺ There is no secret, it's like riding a bicycle or using hula hoop, it's all about getting in sync with the spinning hoop - the key is to ensure good speed from the starting pull, ensure you ALWAYS pull the cord straight out of the ball, NEVER at an angle and pull as hard as you like, really let rip. Then, keeping the arm perfectly STILL, start to 'stir the pot' until you experience a momentary resistance...that'll be the exact speed that puts you in sync with the spinning rotor and will build it's speed. These words can't help you find this however, it's something you have to feel. It can happen in 30 seconds for some, an hour for others, but it will happen and the ball is not broke, I assure you. Keep trying, you'll shortly get there. Best wishes, Rory

Now where would be the fun in that? (Did people scold the Wright bothers because they didn't go straight to gas turbine? Edison because he fooled around with incandescent as opposed to jumping straight in with LED?). The addiction with Powerball is unlocking its secret Thomas - same as you did with a bicycle when you were younger, once you learn the technique with the starting cord you then go learn the finger start technique and away you go, never need an electric starter or autostart ball, just a flick of the finger and happy days, you're off spinning. Check out the video here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fqGZaISJZdtsitE Regards, Rory

It's like riding a bicycle Felipe, at some point, with patience, you'll get an 'ah ha' moment and off you go, wondering why it took so long in the first place...nice, slow steady rotation of the wrist (arm must be kept 100% still) and you'll eventually get in sync and the speed will increase, keep trying, I promise it's just a technique issue. Kind regards, Rory
@Thomas42823 Жыл бұрын
This thing is a piece of crap! Followed the instructions, made it work just a bunch of times. "If it doesn't work, it's not our product fault, it's your fault." Great business strategy. Keep your products, none of them for me.
@rpmpower Жыл бұрын
Hi Thomas. If the rotor is spinning freely inside the shell then it's a 99.9% certainty that the product is not faulty and the problem is simply that you're out of sync with the spinning rotor. We see this often and thus can make such a bold claim that it's the user's technique and not the product that is at fault. If Powerball was a crap product we'd not have sold millions of them around the world over the past 25 years. It's the same as blaming a hula hoop because it keeps falling to the ground when you're 0.5sec out of phase in your gyrations. Simply not the hoop's fault. And not the Powerball's fault if you're out of phase. Just either slow down your wrist rotations or widen the turning circle. And make sure to pull the cord fast and hard (but always STRAIGHT OUT NEVER AT AN ANGLE) to ensure you give proper momentum to the rotor before you start those wrist rotations. You wouldn't blame the bicycle if you kept falling off and crashing into walls because you couldn't get your balance. Please try it again, you'll eventually get that eureka moment where it all flows and you'll understand what all the fuss is about. Thank you, Rory
