How to open or repair samsung Galaxy S5 (G900A,G900T,G900V,G900P)

The screen of my mother's S5 wasn't turning on. The buttons would light up, but the screen remained black. My mom wanted to go to a repair shop. The guy there said that the screen was gone and we had to replace it (about $120). I convinced my mom that it wasn't worth it (the phone costs $140 brand new). We went home and I opened the phone while watching this video. I just made sure that the screen was connected to the board; I closed it up, put the battery in and it works great now :)

Hooray! Success, I used the stopwatch to track hot air flow from the airgun, I believe mode was a bit too hot cause black paper from the screen went off, but it didnt affected it.

You didn't have to remove the home button from the screen. The cable runs to the back of the phone where it's connected to the motherboard under the square panel to the left of the battery.

Sorry it took 4 years to find you I use a Yaxun NO.5 +1.5x25mm Its an original screwdriver for all samsung and huawei models

migg seeds it does pretty mutch the same. But a heat gun has controled heat sensor. The heat is not suposed to be over 92 Celsius

Carmelo Mesina.....why would the makeup of the phone change with each carrier? The hardware is the same across the board, the internals of a 5s is the same as the next 5s no matter the carrier....

Friends! I have a good question that I can't see an answer for anywhere. Does anyone know if a phone will still be operational by replacing a different model motherboard than the one it shipped with? For example, I have a G900i but cannot find a replacement but there are many G900f boards available at a good price. If I was to install the G900f board instead would the phone still be operational? They look the identical. Different bands for different locations and motherboards I know but this may not matter in your average international urban environment. After all, if I had a European S5 but roamed in Asia I am sure my phone will still work.

just flash your regions rom and it should be good in gsm just wont be able to use it on cdma networks

It could be even better, because your board maybe has locked bootloader and that g900f one not, meaning its easily rooteable, mods, etc.

ElectroGamer26 hair dryer won't be hot enough. Buy a heat gun before you attempt this. You must heat the phone to atleast 180°f before attempting to take it off or it will damage the phone.
