Very interesting and informative Peter.👍 I suppose it might be a little harder with a metal tank cover. My Rolls-Royce has no lock, but is released electrically by pressing a button inside the car. If this fails to operate, there is a manual release cable pull in the boot (trunk). At 12-14 miles per gallon, the dual system is a comfort. ☺
